I thought I heard that Dygert was struggling with the effects of her TT crash. Injured tailbone, but apparently no fractures.
Let's hope for her she doesn't end up making it worse by continuing to ride, like she's had a tendency to do in the past.

Some strong and poor results today:
Van Empel (12) and Niedermaier (13) finished strong given their young age.
From Fisher-Black (22), last years 5th overall and Van Anrooij (23), 2nd overall in Vuelta a Burgos this year, I would have expexcted a better results. But Fisher-Black seems not to have the form compared to last year and Van Anrooij has Longo Borghini and Realini in her team and probably has to work for them.
Dygert finished 90. Also here I expected a better result from here given her strong performance in Vuelta a Burgos this year.

And what can you say about AvV? Seems like she has the form compared to last year. Will be and interesing duel at the Tour between her and Vollering.

My impression of NFB is that she's not great in bad weather, and she isn't the best descender either (a bit like Žigart, and Realini prior to this season, but more consistent), so that probably hurt her today.

a classic break of 4 riders from local teams gone up the road with 50secs over the peloton, 70k to go, so still plenty of action to come.

I'm guessing EF are using the same jerseys as the guys did in their Giro?
They are a teeny bit different, because they seem to have more black/white below the armpits.

Unlike Alpecin, Fenix-Deceuninck are reusing the olive jerseys.

it might be the way theyve cut the jerseys/skinsuits for the womens team, and with the different sponsors, as theyre not quite the same team as the mens are they ? and Im sure one of the riders has a back to front sleeve colour arrangement going on too just to be confusing. Its meant to be essentially the "same" at least

Wiebes takes the win, after SD Worx had basically let all the other teams lead out the last few kms.

Vos 2nd, I think Dygert 3rd.

Paternoster crashed at the finish

it was one of the Fenix Deceuninck riders I think , Maria Martens possibly as she was first of their team across the line.

she just rode across Paternosters line, who wasnt contesting the sprint at that stage, and touched wheels

Jayco Alula have reported Paternoster is "ok" so should be fit to continue tomorrow, just a bit of road rash in the end
Good to hear this. Especially after she was leading the prologue and now a crash. She hasn’t got any luck the last year.

She does not have the sprinting legs of two or three years ago - She was not that far behind Balsamo in speed and now she's a million miles away.

One footnote to yesterdays stage: on the only climb, van Empel was first ahead of Cavalli and Fisher-Black. Will be interesting if van Empel and Fisher-Black want to give a fight to Cavalli for the mountain jersey. With that said, I think Cavalli is the strongest climber of these three.

She was out for half a year if I remember correctly. But she was getting better again.
