I don't understand these women at all. First they attack at the climb and then they let the second group back.

Last year the plan was that Marta would lead the Giro and Cille the Tour, so if that's also the case this year, she might purposely be a bit off her best. That said, Marta could very well be their best shot in the Tour as well, just like she might have been last year without the crash
Yea but the women's CQ game forced me to pick between Kasia and Cille and I went for Cille because I thought she was more likely to win stuff (whereas Kasia will rack up placements but hasn't won a race since 2019) and it hasn't panned out as I'd hoped, plus the more success she has the more likely she gets interviewed, so I need her to be performing like, now.

Lots of criticism of the parcours, but this race once again shows that it's the riders who make the race.

Great win for Niedermaier. She would probably not have won without AVV's crash, and she was also lucky they stopped riding behind, but it still required a great ride to pull it off.

Also another fine ride by Ewers who had to close a big gap to get back to the trio behind the best.

Cavalli looked to have crashed as well.

Impressive riding by Niedermaier. Van Vleuten really tried, but just couldn't close it.

She's not really involved in the action, but Van Empel is on track for a top-10 in what is her first ever WT stage race.
edit: actually she's not. But she's quite close.

Cavalli can't catch a break. She looked on track for a great result here after almost one year of recovery. Now she's out of the top10 and possibily injured again.

It didn't look serious, so I assume she's able to carry on, but she's probably lost the chance of reaching the podium. Not a great day for the Italians overall.

A shame ELB crashed while having such great legs, hopefully she's not hurt.
Gret win for Niedermaier, i thuoght AAV would catch her for sure, but instead she basically lost nothing

Haven't seen ELB climb this well in ages and of course as about the best descender in the ladies peleton you don't expect her to crash.

Smart ride by Niediamaer to attack on the descent and get a free minute - She has lots of talent.

I've really enjoyed this race so far, can't wait for the rest of it. Who needs mountains?

So far the fdj “all in for the tour” plan has seen both CUL and Musiz climb worse than last year and CUL doing worse in the classics than usual. Good to see Cavilli coming back to strenght, apart from the crash today.

Muzic was climbing well enough in the Vuelta though, so I don't think it's impossible for her to get better for the Tour.

The team's main's issue is that they have a good group of riders, bu they've never really been able to use the multiple leader strategy to their advantage yet (not that it's easy to do when you're up against a better rider in Van Vleuten and other times an even better team in SD Worx).
