Rally and Orbea are… impractically similar.
And they are on the attack, one rider from each team.

Are the sprinters alive?

I'm sure such a question will not be overinterpretated at all by our live update person here...

Is Barbier a sprinter? As in, a sprinter-sprinter, not just someone who happened to win a sprint when all the sprinter-sprinter crashed. Because he made some gestures that could mean "I'm dead" in the figurative sense.
Or... maybe just that he was hungry.

Well, Gaviria, Hodeg and Sagan didn't crash, so the best riders remained for the sprint.

LoL, Holm just pointing out what I have been thinking; good thing CCC isn't in the race (and have a guy in the break)…

Yes, both Barbier brothers are sprinter-sprinters.

Gaviria looks to be back at his best. Let's see if the knee doesn't bother him again.

Great leadout and a straightforward win for Gaviria.
Barbier having an excellent race, doing well in high level company.
Hodeg blew his own doors off coming from waaaaay back.
Sagan not looking very fast at this point of the season.

To be fair other than his debut season where he stood out in an elite breakaway in the Tour Down Under I cant ever recall Sagan looking sharp and fast in his season opener so I would not read much into it yet.

Sagan looks really slow for second year in a row, this year hi is even slower... Don't know if he is just out of shape or age is catching up to him.

Sagan's looking really poor, he's barely able to get out of his saddle in those sprints. Gaviria otoh is flying, he has even managed to get over today's climb with the front group.

Gaviria looking strong already so early with the likes of Ewan and Bennett. I fear for Sagan though. He just is not there when it matters. Losing on critical points of sprints. Oh sure 4th place but rider like Sagan should be winning sprints.

When did he ever beat Gaviria in a sprint?

With him also riding the Giro after the cobbled classics starting a bit slower seems only natural.
