Tim Kennaugh having a tough time in the Lanterne Rouge position, I hope he doesn't pack and attempts to finish.

I noticed there's a stack of Brits, Americans, Belgians at the back of the field. Colombians going up the road and a step ahead in this race.

II thought HROTHA asked an honest question. But anyways let's not argue for little things.:)

I am happy with the development of these young Colombian riders. I hope something big will come out from the crop of Colombians from the Baby Giro and now the Tour de L'venir.

Now for the ITT. I can see the Colombians being the big favorites but anything can happen in this life. At this age is hard to tell who is who. We can be watching a Greg Lemond for the Americans or a superstar for the Dutch team.

Do we have any videos of the race?

Agreed. Talansky lost 1:15 due to a flat. It happens, it's part of bike racing. It doesn't necessarily mean he's be in the lead as the racing could have been different, but he'd sure look good for the podium. Still has a shot as he's a good TTer as well. Anyway, I just hope some of these young Columbians make their way over to Europe so we can actually watch them race.

I obviously don't know much about that Matthews kid, I thought he was a sprinter-type but he was well up there today. Nice pickup for Rabo.

History is about to be made tomorrow 'no doubt' for Colombia, for the first time a Colombian might win this modern version called Tour the l'Avenir. In 1985 it was Martin Ramirez (Col) of Cafe de Colombia who won the look alike of that time, called the Grand Prix de l'Avenir (Paris-Vierzon-Thiers). For race history Click: http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/tour-de-lavenir-2-ncup-1/race-history

But also something else unique might happen in the race history itself, in relation to the 1,2,3 podium places > for complete podium history Click : http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=9821

About Eijsen losing the leaders jersey and falling completely in the GC.

He sounded like somebody just passed away when he announced the Avenir results on TV :D

Sad to see The Great Yannick Eijssen fall from grace.

Please enlighten me on Colombian tactics. Why did they send Pantano, their best guy on GC, for the mountain points? Now they have Quintano in the lead with only 20 secs advantage. Not that I think he won't take the overall, but they could have had a more comfortable lead by now.

His lead was thanks to tactics more than anything else, so this was to be expected. Didn't think he'd lose 4 minutes though.

Thanks for asking theyoungest it is Atapuma that was destined but crashed during the prologue, and is in pole position again winning back almost 2 min during the last 5 stages.

Picking up the mountain jersey was a must and could only be done in yesterday stage by the rider who could handle the full 200k, so Pantano sacrivised GC and dropped of before the start of the final climb of the stage, to set the pace for the first couple K.
You see Colombians do that a lot of times in their own races due to the intensity off GC contenders in one team at the same time, they are real time Nat. team Players ! but can be selfish if needed.
Maybe you are going to see that today, now that all 3 are in pole position to take it, might the coaches (they have all their own) agree  for once to let the best man win cause it is an ITT. very interesting to see what is going to happen in 30 min time !!!

Now here the open Colombia es Passion tweet link: http://twitter.com/ciclipasioncafe

And the starttimes of their favs.: HORAS DE SALIDA

sebastian 14:34,
camilo 14:52,
Atapuma 15:56,
Pantano 16:00,
Quintana 16:04.

Vamos COLOMBIA!

taylorphinney I am 4 seconds out of Lantern Rouge (last place). It is a tricky balance because I have to race this TT since there is time cut...
