Very good again by little kid Kelderman, younger than anyone in the top-20. He'll win it next year ;)

Wow indeed! Just 19! Let's hope he keeps on getting better. You just never know what happens with talents.
Very nice results for the colombians. I'm really looking forward to see the Colombians competing for top3 spots in Europe. There are a few Colombians around right now, but they are not absolute topnodge.

Doing that good earlier in de Vuelta a Colombia Timmy did put a lot of presure on him and the expectations were to high, cause that VaC this year was a killer.
And seeing his buddy's being that good in the race probably couldn't bring his adrenaline to the highest level.
But still it is a Nations Cup competition and Darwin did a good job by finishing 9 overall on the contrary to that clown Phinney who ruined the team spirit by making the whole thing look like a joke.

Hands down for Talansky though and to hrotha his prediction, staying that cool in such an environment Phinney was creating after having no chance himself anymore, if he ever had that ?

Timmy I will see to get some explenation for Atapuma's poor ITT.

@ Kwibus it will come with the speed of light ... you have to remeber that the country just got rid of them bloody socialists 6 years ago that ruined the whole Nation.

Before that there were a lot running around in Europe, but the money and competition in Colombia is also very sweet (look at Sevilla). Again a Guy like Soler won the Green jersey just 3 years ago, not many country's having great pretentions for a century or longer can say that.

That's another reason why we are having a resurgence in cycling now.

Sorry for getting into politics now.

I am happy that Quintana won. Well they were the favorites anyway. But I would not call him the next Herrera just yet. You haven’t seen the last of Henao.

Congrats to Quintana, he was obviously the strongest by a wide margin. I think the course this year was particularly tough compared to previous years, right? All the kids who finished high on the GC seem to be talented climbers (and Matthews).

Looking forward to seeing all these guys developing in the next couple of years.

@ Escarabajo good to see a lot of int. coming into this .. thanks you are right.

@ Lupetto I will digg it up for you and post it in 30 minutes ... Niro Quintano is just 20 years old and weigts 52k
And here all team info at this link Click: http://www.colombiaespasioncafedecolombia.com/sitio/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=50&Itemid=59

as you can see in the order, he was put last as beeing the youngest WoW and then winning this ... he can win it another 2 times minimum.

It is a very proffessional website with loads of info on it and updated sometimes hour by hour with a lot of twiiters and facebook attached: home > http://www.colombiaespasioncafedecolombia.com/sitio/

This team will start racing in Europe next year and have already been assured by the Vuelta org. that they will be at the start in the 2011 edition.
It might be possible that the other grand tours will follow this example, so that some of the good old days of real man cycling in the mountains will be revitalized.

Sorry to jump in, but maybe DAOTEC is confused about a comment you made on how much time did Andrew Talansky lost on stage 2. He thinks that was your pick. I could be mistaken. But it does not matter now. He really looks like a good talent.:)

After some search now I know who picked Talansky:

this_is_edie said:
my pick is Talansky.

What's your beef with Americans trying to make their way on the cycling scene? Talansky actually is quite a good climber.

As for Quintana is concern, Ryo picked him all the way. He really knows these Colombians riders too much. Maybe he has inside information.
