Not sure if Ventoux will be forever remembered for Froome or the other way around
I think Mont Ventoux would be remembered by cycling fans regardless of Froome's experiences there. Pierre Saint-Martin is probably one that can forever be remembered for Froome as it was one of his most dominant wins and the first time the climb was used in the Tour, or maybe Jafferau. Other places like Finestre had legacies already, but Froome's attack there will likely forever be one of its most legendary. Ventoux? That already had enough of a legacy built up that he's 'just another' part of it.

It is, but the main pass doesn't go all the way over the top.
Do we know why they didn't go all the way? This is the climb we are used to. It shows 1,912 metres. Plus the final section is quite epic.

According the the organiser's profiles they do go to 1912m, but the LFR database lists the top as being at 1893m. It was the same case in the Tour last year, where ASO said it was at 1910m, but LFR claimed it was at 1894m.

Israel will just go to Canada with a few guys an come back with over 200 points lmao
But these guys still need to be among the top 10 guys of the team at the end of the season, so if Piccoli or Cataford ends up winning it's wasted points, right? So it has to be the right riders collecting points in NCs and other races to make it matter.

According to PCS this is the UCI-points gathered so far by Israel this season:

The top 5 are obvious that will count at the end of the season, otherwise it's quite open. Boivin got 100 UCI-points when he won Canadian NC last year, but even if he wins that he might not go over 200 points in total if the rest of the season is underwhelming. All points he's scored so far is in Belgian classics, there are a lot less of these races in the autumn, right?

Given Carl Fredrik Hagen is already number 7 of the Israel boys perhaps he should be given a free role today in this race as he could be good enough for a top 10 spot and scoring 20-30 points?

There are some nice possibilities for him to score points later this season with Norwegian NC, Sibiu Tour (he will go there if he doesn't go to Tour I read), Artic Race and probably Vuelta (a top 15 could be within reach perhaps?).

Yeah, probably.
That said, he did win that Adriatica Ionica MTF on the Giau a few years back and that one had a bit of climbing before the Giau, so you never know.

He isn't as bad as Kevin Rivera, who seems to be only good on Unipublic style stages...

And the stage in Asturias had a descent fnish after 200 km, whereas the other stages he's won have been MTFs after about 150 km, so maybe he's improving somewhat.
