Random thought:
At about 8 K-to-go there was a ramp leading onto the high-way (or whatever the correct term is) the riders were on. The traffic-stopping-people were positioned at the end of the ramp, causing a huge traffic jam. Wouldn't it have been smarter to position them at the start of the ramp? That way drivers have the option of picking another route, rather than going all the way down the ramp only to be told that "Nope, sorry. Road's closed!"
