On the contrary i love the comentary.

In fact i would like to hear the Columbian commentary for the tdf as well.
Would make it far more exciting.

Speaking of which what happened to that japanes commentary from the giro which was apparently similar in passion, though not as great since i dont understand japanese

They have a colombian channel at http://www.rojadirecta.org I think it is called mitierratv or something...one guy talks so fast like a machine gun...:p

ESPN Espanol also has it but the commentator are much more relaxed, one of them actually, the woman is quite knowledgeable like Phil Ligget before he sold his soul to Lance..

Libertine Seguros said:
But you've missed the point- I'm not criticising the commentary, I'm bewailing the fact that very few of the available clips that we have have got commentary at all.

Yeah it is a shame. Would like to see more with commentary. On the clips you gave, they were going nuts over a cyclist finishing the last 2 km on his own. I wonder what they are like when there is actual racing going on.

Rujano FTW

Ok english mode enabled/

This is a really great race! make it Protour would be stupid the race is perfect like this... this year has a lot of stages over 200km wow...! this is really nice... this race is for real men! :D BTW Colombians commentators are very pasionate not like ESPN or Versus or crappy channel like those...

Ryo - I have watched the Copa America de Ciclismo, racing at Interlagos. That's why I put Francisco Chamorro into my all-season fantasy team.

The only thing that the Vuelta a Colombia needs is TV coverage for me to see. My Spanish isn't all that, and it's Castilian Spanish too, so with the images I can sort out what's being said and interpret it, but without I can get lost quite quickly (especially with the speed and excitement levels they report at!)

the true icon of cycling in santander Hernan Buenahora, he was top ten tour, 6th in de giro and was one of the most animated racers of the 90s in european peloton and is still running! he's back from a more than 2 year suspension for efidrine(ridiculous!) wonder what his form is going to be.

Thanks for the posts and pictures guys. How old is Buenahora? He must be pushing 40. Two years suspension from ephedra/ephedrine is ridiculous. Now I understand that WADA/IOC should have it on their list of banned substances, but really, it is a weak stimulant and to get the same suspension length as EPO..

what is even more ridiculous was that the amounts were so low they had to retest it. they purely did it to make a statement to the uci.

Buenahora is officially 43, but in reality 47. It's a crazy story how his birthcertificate got lost during a fire in the town he was born. He falsified his age to get into teams because he was already 27 when turning pro at cafe de colombia (23 according to his falsified information). it's the stuff of legend in colombian cycling and he was asked few years back about it for colombian media and he just smiled. :D

Buenahora had already been flagged up for high haematocrit a couple of years before his ephedrine positive. He got what he deserved.

Here is a good profile of the Alto de La Línea for those who haven't seen it. It's like Mont Ventoux had been on the juice.
