WheelofGear said:STOP WORKING SO MUCH SAGAN!
Waited for Terpstra to close down a move which he could easily have bridged to. Then tried to drop him to join the front two with a huge solo attack; only to fall spectacularly short and be forced to then work with Terpstra - with his tail firmly between his legs.Scarponi said:What did Sagan do?
Sagan didn't fail, he can't be the only rider to close every gap when people attack. That's what teams have been used to and he obviously has had enough of that nonsense.Forever The Best said:What a fail by Quick Step...

Agreed. It would be really well deserved for Jens K. Normally he's the faster pure sprinter, but I'm fearing that he takes too many pulls compared to Van Avermaet.Andy262 said:Hope keukeleire does this. Aggressive ride.
I think he'll carry on. Has a reasonable chance 1v1 in a sprint against GVA. Especially if he can hold his nerve and out-bluff him in the last km.Billie said:Will be interesting to see when (if) Keukeleire stops riding

Was it even an attack? Did I miss it? Seemed almost like people weren't pulling through and a gap just formed.DFA123 said:Waited for Terpstra to close down a move which he could easily have bridged to. Armchair cyclist said:Was that a case of Terpstra and Andersen reckoning that their teammates behind would do better than the 4th and 5th that they were destined for? And Sagan having read this forum saying that he tries too hard?
It looked to me like Sagan tried to make Terpstra work when he didn't do it he attacked himself, trying to leave Terpstra in the dust and trying to catch the duo. But he failed.Sorped said:Irondan said:Sagan didn't fail, he can't be the only rider to close every gap when people attack. Bingo. They have to realize he won't always drag them home. That would also force teams in the situation QS was in to try and make something of it rather than wait and wait.
