The field of climby-sprinty boys actually looks more than decent judging by this top ten. Can't really argue Peter only won because it's a weak field imo.

Fell asleep with 92km to go, woke up with a close up of Sagan winning.
Sad because I missed his vintage way, but so happy he won!

Did Bettiol celebrated his top 10??

I hear ya but I don't think anyone takes Thomas seriously as a GC threat right now. Maybe he'll prove that to be wrong, but he seems well past it.

hmm. if he has his romandie 2021 climbing legs, he can also do much better than yates in the itt, so... with martinez dropping time, probably ineos thinks he may be their best podium prospect.

From what i saw on the live stream, it was Asgreen who just went down with no clear cause. You could see it on the helicopter shot, center of the bunch, bottom of the screen, just as they switched to moto camera at 4.5k from the finish.

Van Wilder didn't hit the ground, but he fell on the backwheel of a rider (and the rider) in front of him and has burn marks on his belly.

So there's a cat 2 near the end of tomorrow's stage. Anyone know the climb? GC action?
The profile below as far as the junction to Morgarten:

Looks a little harder than the final climb on the first stage but it's further from the finish and the rest of the stage is far easier. Unfortunately the ensuing descent is really wide and shallow (3-4%).

Chris Horner will absolutely love talking about this later.
He is a big Sagan fanboy and was, I thought, making poor excuses for him earlier in this race, claiming his legs needed to get up to race speed after a period of altitude training.
It looks like Horner was correct.
