Libertine; how do you rate the buys of Blanco, Bazan and Pardilla at this point? What do you expect from them this year?

Just curious to hear because you always seem to know what you are talking about :)

Javier Moreno Bazán is now getting close to last year's tally. If he can avoid crashing out of the Vuelta a Asturias I can't see him finishing lower than 7th, and realistically he could at least hold on to podium. If he wins overall he will get 122 points (12 for leading two more days plus 110 for the overall) which puts him way past last year's total (he already has 126).

He's a guy who's had a lot of solid results but been wasted on breakaways, or working for Vicioso or Tondó. It's obvious that Asturias was a bit of a target for Caja Rural given the somewhat weaker startlist, as they've put 3 guys in the top 10 after the queen stage. Looks to be paying off!

All done. I agree a little too easy but then I guess it will all come down to strategies and POD's but I'm happy, being able to select 5 team leaders \o/

Ok so table corrected and updated and new spreadsheet added.

I'm now accepting Giro predictions from everyone. Please read the first post carefully. I need 2 picks for the overalls. So that's:
- predict the overall GC winner
- predict the final KOM winner
- predict the final points winner
- predict the final young rider
- predict the best team

You get 2 chances at scoring points for this. In addition I'll be doing 5 stages open for predictions just like the classics. They are Stages 2,7,13,14,21.

Those that miss the deadline (again, there is lee-way in this) wont be able to put in predictions for the Overall classifications but can join in for the Stages.

So do we predict two whole seperate sets of classifications or do we get two goes at each one?

No, each stage picked out will be done the same as the classics were, pick a top 5 and order etc. At the start of a GT or Stage Race you list 2 people in each category who you think will win and score points if one of those 2 wins it. For teams classification you only pick 1 team.

So for example:

Giro

Overall:
1. Porte
2. Rujano

Mountain Jersey:
1. Verdugo
2. Pettachi

Pts Jersey:
1. Dean
2. Bozic

Young Riders:
1 Scarponi
2 Garzelli

Team:
Colnago

Then before every stage picked out you hand in your predictions on who you think will finish top 5.

Ok merde, I just realised I'm away this weekend. So I want be able to do this for collecting the Overall Predictions or the running of Stage 2.

Can anyone take over till then? I'll upload the master spreadsheet and all you will have to do is take down peoples predictions and post them up and I'll transfer everything once I get back. I'll probably be back Sunday arvo (my time) but it will end up being too late for the stage.

The main winner in the Tour of Romandie, closing in on the top two through Tony Martin's second overall, was Jaylew: On3m@n@rmy and Nobilis both had 5th place Intxausti, and Henry Olonga benefitted from Brajkovic's GC position. Other than that, it was scraps of points from stage placings for most of us, but even such scraps can make for changes of position, thus Kazistuta moves above Hitch.

Ingsve 881 (Gilbert 356, Goss 203, Boonen 140, Urán 107, Wiggins 75)
Waterloo 779 (Gilbert 356, Cancellara 236, Urán 107, Wiggins 74, Millar 5)
Jaylew 760 (Goss 203, T Martin 197, Sánchez 163, Urán 107, Tondó 90)
Kazistuta 632 (Gilbert 356, Boonen 140, D Martin 72, Cunego 33, Freire 31)
Hitch 625 (Cancellara 236, Boonen 140, Urán 107, A Schleck 72, Matthews 70)

OK, cool. Sounds great.

Rujano has been in the podium of the Giro. I'm stoked to see what he can do this year.

Update 16

AAC1983 continues to dominate the leaderboard but the competition is fierce. Less than 350 points seperates numer 1 from number 7 so we'll probably see a lot happen during the next big event - the Giro. Thanks to Evans microdose once again is to be found in the top 10 while MADRAZO is pushed out.

In the bottom it shouldn't be of any suprise that Wiggins_fan is last while Vonn Brinkman takes place number 87. Passista is one of the big winners this week, jumping from number 64 to 47. Jakob747 also did very well moving from 28th to 15th.

Top 10:

Position (Last update) Team name - points

1. (1) AAC1983 - 5232
2. (6) LukeSchmid - 5134
3. (7) Pcutter - 5093
4. (2) ingsve - 5069
5. (5) theyoungest - 4994
6. (3) Handbrake - 4979
7. (4) The Hitch - 4886
8. (9) Waterloo Sunrise - 4784
9. (13) microdose - 4735
