Good decision on Bjarnes part imho. Rules are rules, and if you want them respected you have to apply them.

Yes, but at the same time, it's a lot easier to break the rules when you're starting your own team next season so your immediate future is secured, and you don't have any important objectives ahead of you this year.roundabout said:I'm sure the rules are a lot easier to apply when riders in question are leaving the team and as the result one of other riders who is leaving the team gets less support.

I believe Bjarne is being a gentleman not telling the whole story, we have seen numerous times these guys drinking wine or champagne with their dinner. So IMO it definitely wasn't about one drink.
Bjarne losing control of these jackasses? Yes, but who cares, bunch of deadbeats.
This is IMO one of the differences between a TDF champion and a podium finisher. You would never catch AC, LA or Miguel Indurain doing this stuff. Devil is in the details.

? You won't catch Contador doing something like this. I'd say he's the right fit for Riis.python said:i am with riis on this one but doubt a drink is the whole story...
i have always said, berto better watch this closely as his and riis's temperaments are incompatible in my opinion despite both being excellent professionals.

The next day the mood changed though and he threw them out.
