I wonder how many of the current teams have organized doping programs. If your outsource it and have riders handle their business themselves it's easier to distance the team from the rider in case he gets caught but at the other hand you can't be certain that they don't mess up. If it's more organized you have more control but if someone talks then you have a big mess.

I would guess old school mob style. The real heavy *** is distributed and organised from pawns with no formal links to the team. Team doctors acts in a more advising role and probably recruits the stuff after a silent agreement with the head honcho leaving him outside the direct contacts. Therefore most of the dirty activities is outside the confines of cycling itself. Leaving riders in the dark and mostly accepting whatever goods the doctors brings to the table.

All the bigger teams have no doubt organised programs. The managers ruling these teams have the thing in common that they are control freaks and wouldnt dare letting some loose canon running his own program without the necassary insight of the team. They usually wants to micro-manage it and micro-managed it is.

If it walks like organised doping, talks like organised doping, then it sure is organised.

It is team doping, just done with a less is more approach. Keep riders guessing as to what exactly they are taking, how much and who else is on the same program. Teams have their own chefs( should they wish to PED a meal), have their own doctors, their own testing and their own drug mules. Some riders will be happy to do their own thing others happy to go along with team choices. BMC had a soigneur caught with 200ampules of EPO, but denied he was their man. Was that a months worth, 2 weeks worth, a weekends worth of PED? Teams will know how riders are doing (PEDing), they must, it is part of their remit.

Riis would've kept tabs on all his guys. It would be very unprofessional not to.

Frank Høj gave the TV2 journalists a surprise today by admitting to doping. He was a guest during their TdF coverage.

Høj did not cooperate with Anti-doping Denmark (or did he? this is part of the confusing story about what was meant to be in the report or not, the Rasmussen leak about Sørensen), and he still denies Rasmussen's story about the cortisone at the Athens Games. Anti-doping Denmark wrote in their report that they belived the story and said that if it wasn't for SOL they would have opened a doping case against Høj for using (trafficking/distribution too?) cortisone in 2004.

He does however admit to having used EPO as a neo pro in 1995, and he claims he didn't use anything after the Festina scandal. He rode for Collstrop - Lystex 1995-1997, and Palmans - Ideal 1998. In 1999 he rode for US Postal...
