With NoScript you just forbid the actual location of what you want to block (i.e. outbrain.com), whilst "allowing" the actual address of the site you are visiting. You will find though that many sites have scripts coming from the outside which are essential for the page to work correctly, you get it right quick enough with trial and error.

And yes, it's the #1 most important add-on for Firefox, for security.

Well, 'color' and 'colour' are both correct depending on where you are from. Mould would also fall into this category yes?

certainly not something to jump on someone about is it?

...its all his fault...he started it....:D

I see your point, but you are the one that spelled mold as mould :p you're not helping matters much are you :D

Blutto is correct in his usage. Just as an American would be correct to ask "What color is the mold?", UK, Aus, Canada, etc would say "The colour of the mould is irrelevant" :D

If I see "my funny fake-out panties" one more time I'm going to see how far I can throw the monitor out the window.

The noscript adno turns some websites to complete mush, especialy those that rely on js to do clever things.. Certainly on my site, the navigation is js, the scrolling race bar is js, the article feeds are generated using js, small mousover images use js.. the list goes on..

Why on earth would you want to limit ad blocking to just one site? Is there like only one site where ads are annoying?
.

very often actually. used properly ads shouldnt need blocking as they shouldnt impact or effect the overall look of the site. For well done sites the ads shouldnt even need blocking.

The second reason is, a lot of web developers (myself included) rely on advertising income to cover the cost of running the site, server costs, domain costs etc, and a lot of people (myself included) will gratitude click. For instance today I was on velowire, read a couple of really good articles, and after reading them clicking an ad link.. makes the owner anywhere between 10c and 1$ but it all counts.. When watching livestreams of football I will click an add or two during half time to show my appreciation.

Unfortunately, sites that go over the top with their advertising overpowering the content of the site, make it worse for those who do their best to keep advertising to a minimum, but a necessary minimum nonetheless

fwiw, i make just enough in advertising to cover monthly server fees, domain renewals and a software update once a year.. doesnt sound much, but a few clicks doesnt half save my pocket.. Every website that goes ad crazy and makes people install ad blockers basically screws over the little guys who depend on that dollar a day they get in ad revenue..

edit: just seen they dont show up in opera

But seriously, CN sort this out. Its muppet ideas like this that encourage people to install adblockers, and meen people like me end up having to pay to run their websites out of their own pockets because nobody clicks on their RELEVANT, WELL PLACED, TARGETED ADVERTISING!!!!!!!

I hope it is not up to us to add adblocking software that mucks up our other things...
really hope you do sort this out CN. ...Josnor are you there??

The ads shouldn't be punitive to readers on the website...
those that REALLY want to keep looking at this s*** can find it elsewhere.

Hey CN, I hope someone paid attention to the two TeamSkyFans posts. That is probably how many of your heavy site users feel. Keep the damn ads where we can see them, to make it worthwhile for you but don't throw them right in the middle of our threads. It is a pain for us and it makes this site look pretty bush league, even for a free-use site. This coming from a guy who didn't even care about the skimlinks crap you pulled on us a few months ago.

Its pretty funny the ads inbed in this thread lol. Oh, the horror!

I like 'em. I don't watch those New Jersey shows and didn't know WTF a Jwoww was, so I did GIS and learned about a Jwoww. OK, I'll have one of those Jowows and some Sofia Vergara wardrobe malfunctions to go delivered to my door, pronto.

Good job, CN. Keep the $ rolling in with ads that educate the masses about Jwows and such. Scot and I finally agree on something, so it must be all good.

Edit: Now we got leggy models with sheer clothing. Spankwire will lose traffic over this.

Yes, and it takes approximately 30s to make it work normally.
