Would love to see him win the Wolrd's ITT. The course definitely suits him and with Froome and Martin in bad shape he should be favourite.

He had to, but there is about 2 weeks until the worlds' ( 10 for the ITT) so he'll recover fine.

alberto is a great tour rider indeed the best of our generation

but not on par with legends such as merckx or hinault

now if he was to win worlds road race milan san remo flanders roubaix liege lombardy etc then he would too be such a legend

Agreed. Cycling has changed beyond recognition. Today's sport is much more specialized, segmented, and has deeper fields. The days of a multiple GT-winner taking MSR or PR are likely gone forever.
