El Pistolero got smoked properly today. The shattered fanboy reaction is priceless. Face it, Dude's won his last TdF. Maybe he could win one of the lesser Tours in the future.

Maybe he could win one of the lesser Tours in the future?

He won the Giro about six weeks ago. And quite honestly he never had a chance, not after having ridden the Giro.

The double Dream is dead :(

Hope he at least can create fireworks as in 2011, and not being almost anonymous as 2013 :(

What? Fireworks? In this kind of form, all we're gonna see is Contador being dropped again, again and again. He can't even attack, he can't do anything.
Yep.. I kind of wish he'd just let them ride away tomorrow and the day after, he could actually grab a stage win in the last week, although I'm not sure Froome would allow him.

well.. it's anti climatic. I didn't expect he got blown away by Froome like that. It's like watching 2013 dejavu. Ow well, At least, he gave it a try to win double. But I must say, It's excruciating to watch him out climb by Tejay.. and even Thomas? Thomas?? really?? I saw him clutching his shoulder already at some 9km to go.. he didn't look that good.

So what do you guys reckon for the rest of TDF? Did he hit the bottom already or is he still in the nose dive to the bottom? And If he hit the bottom, will he start to get back up? Aru was like a new man after almost like he was dying on the bike. But he is young. youth is in his side.

Anyway. in hindsight, at least we can know for sure, AC isn't a Quiter. Giving up is not on his book. He suffered more than just a set back and probably need a miracle or tons of luck to overturn his situation. He will fight back. But maybe not enough to unseat Froome or Quintana for that matter. TJ is possibility. At least if he can fight back, I will be happy for that. After all, he is the only one who try to do the double. Doesn't work.. ow well, maybe next year vuelta-giro. Or Tour-vuelta for his farawell.

The tour is over for everyone. Even Quintana was crushed. Just ridiculous. Sky 1,2 and 5th.

I won't be watching any more stages.

I epxpected the place (sort of), not expected the gap though. But I am not even depressed. I just laughed. What else can you do. Richie bloody Porte just blowing away Quintana like he is on a Sunday ride. Comedy.

I was thinking before the Tour that if Contador was out of it early, he should drop out and prepare for the Vuelta. He did the Giro/Vuelta double before, he could go for it again. The only rationale for staying in at this point is if he could podium, but that doesn't look likely.

Edit: Scarponi beat me to it.

Well i didn't expected this outcome.I was hoping that Contador will be the last man standing in Froome's way,as he's the only one which can respond to Froome acceleration. But really with Giro in his legs and it was a hard Giro, you can't expect him to be in top shape.

I've seen aging Great Champions podium @ the TdF. Contador won't be on the podium at all, not even at the age of 32! How many years of lesser Tour podium does he have left? 1, maybe 2? The Pistolero's gonna be shooting blanks @ the age of 38. . . Guys, it's time to find a new hero ;)

Landa will be at the Vuelta. There is that time trial though.

You clearly don't know what a hero is.

I don't understand his level, that's really *** up. How can Galloping climb a MINUTE faster, seriously? Rolland, Thomas, Valverde all crushing Contador.

That's the thing here, a good Contador would be able to put 1 min 50 into these guys, and he would be able to follow Froome.

He did the Giro, fair enough, but he must've realised he was SO bad in sierra nevada?

I don't get it, even in route du sud he was much better.

He will not drop out, he's too stubborn. In 2013 he didn't drop out either.

Not that I think he would be able to win the Vuelta anyway, 5 GTs in a row WTF?

I really hope Contador drops out of the race tomorrow. He shouldn't race the vuelta either. Prepare for one last tour next year (and possibly vuelta after that) and then it's time to quit.

This **** is painful to watch.

Well you have to concede that was ridiculously impressive, I'd like to see some data VAM etc, say compared to Riis on Hautacam, not that I'm insinuating anything.
