like jyhjyh said, he caught a cold from noval on the last few days of the vuelta. Riis said it himself after the vuelta apparently.

and yes i expect him to be in top shape for the worlds. you don't win a GT being in such a bad shape that it takes you months to recover your top form.

Most world championships win worlds after racing the vuelta. And the thing stopping Contador from being in top form at the vuelta was lack of racing days which he now has. I think he will be able to hold his current form and put in a good performance for the TT.

Plus without Cancellara, Wiggins, and Martins being injured almost all year he will have a even better chance. I think he could at least manage a podium.

Well i really hope you guys are right :) . Its true that without Fabian, Wiggins and a in top shape Martins he will have a way better shot at it. I just keep having a bad feeling that he will "disappoint" And come in second or third.

But as a Saxo-Tinkoff fan i really hope im wrong, i would be more then happy, if i have to admit to you guys that i was so wrong, after the worlds :D

Medal in the worlds is never a disappointment. Of course the 1st place is the target, but the medal is still good.

That depends on the rider. For Contador it would be a disappointment.

Good guess :)

My guess is Gilbert in road race and Contador/Kessiakoff in the ITT.

Gilbert is of course a good horse to bet on so thats why the need to have your team working. Unless that wont happen he is the man to beat.

With Kessiakoff i am not too sure. I smell he had his "one-hit-wonder" during the Vuelta and i am doubting he can pull off another performance like that again. He is to irregular for that i think.

Until we know the state of Martin (and he did suck in the Vuelta) or if Froome comes back from the dead, this is Albertos gold too lose.

That's what makes him so great.

Honestly I don't think he gives a **** about 2nd place even if it's a medal, only winning counts.

The only exception are the olympics.

The distance is 44 km right? Should be possible ;)

I think Contador would be very happy with a medal.

very happy? don't think so, maybe he'll be ok with it if he sees Martin is way better but not very happy.

Being rested an ready for the day after tomorrow ?. :)

A TT win would mean more, then a top 5-10 in the TTT. Not that I think he is going to beat Tony Martin though.

Well the TTT gave A LOT of WT points for top 10, so for a team that desperately needs points, But for Berti himself it sure would. And would be awesome to see him in the WC shirt on TTs next year ;)

Take that the first song to the clinic. :D

What?:D..Its perfect lyrics

You ready?! Let's go!
Yeah, for those of you that want to know what we're all about
It's like this y'all (c'mon!)
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!......(but the percentage doesn't fit:D
Mike! - He doesn't need his name up in lights
He just wants to be heard whether it's the beat or the mic
He feels so unlike everybody else, alone
In spite of the fact that some people still think that they know him
But f*** em, he knows the code
It's not about the salary
It's all about reality and making some noise
Making the story - making sure his clique stays up
That means when he puts it down Tak's picking it up! Let's go!
.
.
and etc.
But Im not so good in english,so:rolleyes:

Was wondering if the WT points didn't count if he rode the TTT.....anyone know?

Meanwhile he rode the full course 2xs today :) Said it is Very Hard!

Contador is disappointed in the course, but ok he always talks like this. Let's hope for the best ;)

I wonder btw how much do you think Contador can gain on the cauberg on Martin in the TT?

10, 15 seconds?

Maybe even more if he therefore slows down a bit, I hope the cauberg decides it, would be pretty epic.

The Cauberg is only 0.5 miles long so it might not make that big a difference. If the other climb can be climbed sitting down like Contador said then it looks like Martin has the advantage over him. Contador will have to be much faster than Martin on the climbs like the Cauberg where he can go faster and will have to hold that advantage on the flats and downhills.
