Ferrari calculated that Contador did 6.87w/kg for 6 and a half minutes, between 6km to go and 3km to go. Impressive nonetheless, but you gave the impression (deliberately or otherwise) that the quoted figure was for the whole climb.

I posted this before and Miburo was referring to it so I just posted what I still remembered.

Unfortunately Alberto doesn't make them public so calculations are all we have.

Didn't Lemond orso make a calculation of his climbing on verbier?

I remember something like that.

Can you elaborate, why?

If your way of reasoning coincides with Miburo's one and implies the 2011 Giro shape is impossible to beat BECAUSE the fact of reaching that shape drops all the riders automatically, we can not discuss this further. Then I agree because a shape dropping all rivals in any race (as a part of your logic) is unbeatable by default

No need to get defensive. YOU made a claim that you thought Froome's form would be superior to Contador's come July (in an Alberto Contador discussion thread no less!) without any supporting reasoning. So why do you think Froome's top end form will be superior to Contador's? It is a fair question.

I'm not defensive. What support reasoning do you expect from me? That is just the way I feel. You are free to feel differently. If we open the Tour poll today 50% (or a bit less) of posters will vote for Froome and what? Will you demand supporting reasonings from them and ask them wrong for lack of these reasonings?

Froome is a better time trialist and not worse climber. Though he is able to gain seconds in the mountains as well.

I don't know if he means form as in "limit - 100% and Froome is riding at 99%, Contador 97%" rather form as in Froome will be better.

Straight from the power discussion in the clinic. Contador had headwind on Etna, don't know about PDBF

Different situations, but Froome certainly was not at his limit on PDBF.

I wouldn't say Contador couldn't ride Etna faster. Anyway sometimes he was slowing down a bit, talking to Rujano, exploring Scarponi's face, but anyone is unlikely to say Froome could not have ridden Planche des Belles Filles better if he had not ridden for the team. The fact how brutally he cut Evans into halves in a finish sprint says a lot.

Relax chief. You ARE getting defensive. It's a cycling forum. I was just curious if you had any rationale beyond that's "my opinion." I'm always interested in folks thoughts about these things (why I participate in these discussions). And yes, if someone made a conclusory statement like your statement, I'd ask them as well (sorry, you aren't special :)) for the same reason.

He has to lose some weight, look at Jesus, he has been a good pro:eek:

I think he'll be on his competition weight in T-A, from now on we'll see the real Contador.

No excuses, but i know we won't need to make any anyways ;)
