Congrats to the aging former champion Contador. Finished 15th overall on the ITT, losing a little more than 2 minutes to Froome. He battled valiantly right to the finish line. Will he strengthen in the Alps?

How to make almost four minutes on Froome? There has to be a plan.

Only plan, which isn't a plan at all, is that Froome has gone far too deep in the first 10 stages and will pay for it in the Alps. I'm excited for the upcoming podium battle (I presume Sky is as well since they can just sit back and enjoy the ride).

He's gonna ride top 20, that's a lot better than getting 61 in the dauphine

i like your thinking. seeing glass half full. He bleeded, but not as bad as Dauphine. Good news, Saxo duo are still close together. Interesting to see what's saxo tactic for the next two weeks. i think sky probably had figured out that all GC team will wait until the last week, and try to loss time on ITT. So sky decided to blow everyone on the first week, and they know if they got time, froome can seal the deal with ITT, then they will ride defensively the rest of the tour. Their plan almost unravelled on sunday, but no GC contender decided to attack since they believed the last week is the hardest one. It's interesting to see if sky's tactic is better than typical tactic applied by most team: waiting until the last week.

I remembered, one of froome interview, when he said contador is beatable, he said that on the vuelta, contador still did't get the jersey on the second week. Maybe that's why they tighten the screw earlier at Ax3. But of course, this is just speculation :D:D

Alberto is improving. You don't believe? see andy. who da thought he can hang with the GC with his best result is 25 at TOC all year long? If andy can, so does contador. It's impossible to overhaul Froome, but molema and valverde would be a good target.

what is exciting about a podium battle. 2nd place is first loser. No one cares about podium except dutchie Mollema fanboys.

I wonder whether Froome will allow Alberto to win a mountain stage...Seems like there is good relationship between them as far as it is possible at all. Though, I suspect Froome strongly dislike Contador's Collada de Galina riding..

Of course not, Froome wants to dominate Alberto, that's what he said

From Alberto's side, yes. Froome however doesn't show any respect at all and doesn't seem to like Alberto.

Though, I suspect Froome strongly dislike Contador's Collada de Galina riding..

What was wrong with Alberto's Collada de Galina riding:rolleyes:

Maybe in five years it turns out to be the winner

Btw I think a lot of riders would be glad with a podium here. Actually Valverde was riding for podium Sunday.

Methinks Alberto is going to regret not going with Valverde and Quintana the other day.

Riis and AC really messed up their preparation this year.

Then again the climbs in the Alps are loooong and steady and the 3rd week's bunks tend to be legendary, so anything can happen.

I'm expecting Contador to lose 2 mins on today's TT

Look who was right...fancy that

Today's stage proved two things that (1) contador is no longer a contender for the win and (2) he has had a stay of execution as team leader.
