Do you really expect that after the way Sky have ridden for the past few days ? I think Froome will just wait for the attacks and see what happens and who he can let go and who he needs to follow. He knows Movistar will attack. Why would he kill his team with a week to go. He can ride defensively and try and make time later in the stage if he has the legs. Sky has lost two riders and also have injured riders. We have not seen much of the Sky train because Froome made time early in the race. Sky can't afford another stage like the one where Porte lost huge time and they were scattered up and down the road. All they can do is protect Froome until the climb and Porte will stay with him as long as possible. If Contador can't make time on this stage, it does not look good for him unless Froome has a bad day next week.
I guess it's just a logical assumption seeing how sky's tactic is. Maybe they won't control the race like they did. But by the looking of Ax3 when they destroyed the field, seems that the logical assumption for sky is to do the same. The first part is the hardest part, so if they do the Ax3, there won't be any GC contender's left. Minutes can be lost on Ventoux. So I still expect to see the sky express drilling the hole to everyones's arses
*i hope I'm wrong*.
As far as todays menu, this is contador's private date with his destiny. If he can hang and limit his loss, we have a ball game. If he is fading, then second place won't be so bad to achieve. Hopefully, kreuziger can maintain his position. Maybe saxo's directive today is to limit losess, since contador hasn't said anything about his sensation so far. So that's not a good indication.
