Riis:

“I’m confident he’s going to have a good end of the season,” he stated. “His goals are the world championship and Il Lombardia but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him at the front in the two Canadian races this week.”

Stop! it is embarrasing..just because you dont want a wiggins/froome/andy avatar doesnt mean you have to keep believing that he will win the worlds :D

stripe or no stripe as long as long as he comes out from the winter in a very good shape. He is kinda due to win something. So keep my finger crossed, hope his great winter form can be a good base to start 2014.

Then he is arriving relatively late. I don't think he'll top-10 either races then. I think as a rule of thump, it takes the same amount of days to adjust from the jet lack as the time zone difference in hours.

True, but hey he still raced on Sunday (Costa too btw).

Also, I find that when flying to the west the jetlag is easier to handle but that may just be what I feel.

I would agree you if you would be traveling eastwards. In my experience traveling westwards leads to much less jet lag (if any at all).

Hmm.. not sure if you are right. I travel 24hrs straight flight every year to visit my family. Travel westwards is usually more jetlag for me. Took a week to acclimate. But on the way back, I got barely jetlag. I think, maybe it really depends on what time of the day you arrive?

anyway, bjarne said alberto should be starting showing up his form in canada. So hope we'll see his form really soon.

It's funny, since he became less dominant my liking for Contador has gone up. I never disliked him but watching someone dominate gets a bit dull (So the same with Sky - EBH being an exception).

At least he did not forget his passport like Bakelants

I heard jet-lagged horses are better at endurance race than local horses.
They were saying about some hormone being over-produced which works better for muscles.

Anyone heard a similar result for cyclists?

Disappointed he didn't even try today. It was obvious he wasn't feeling great but he didn't even show his face once. I really think he just doesn't know how to race one day races.

Or perhaps he tried to help Matti the best he could?

I saw him quite often riding the third line of the peloton or so. He did not look good tho. I am sure he will try something in Montréal.
