Absolutely right.

All is well. no need to worry yet.

Astana rode a good stage. i think nibali was more interested in the stage win with the italian:)confused:) jersey. he only took 2 sec. he could have ridden harder and won with @ 5 secs.

Now its cobbles, stage 8 for surprises, or stage 10.

Just watched Jenkin Road again, and AC did not seem to eb strugling at all. He made a couple of "attacks" and looked very comfortable, also when Froome accelerated on the flatter part.

Maybe just comparing legs to his Giro/Sud performance..
But yes, If this was a bad day for him I can't wait till he gets a good one :)

Yet again Froome finishing ahead of Contador. Really seemed to put him into trouble at the top of the climb, too. Last year's Contador probably would've lost 20 seconds there.

Do you intentionally distort the facts or what?:(

I was of course referring to the top of the mountain rather than the actual finish of the stage.

That would be a viable explanation if you hadn't used the word "finished".

Contador makes Froome work because Froome loves to show how strong he is. He has a big ego. Now Tinkoff-Saxo and AC let him show how strong he is. That is good. The plan preceeds as expected.

You are probably just trolling, but I'll take the bait.

Contador finished ahead of Froome (as if it matters). Froome didn't hurt anyone. Teejay was on his wheel straight away. Frigging Teejay, for God's sake!

If anything, Froome looked slightly bothered the second time AC upped the tempo on a steep gradient, but that really tells us nothing as Sagan didn't seem the least bothered. An 800 meter long speed bomb isn't anywhere close to a mountain.

We'll have to wait until next weekend to draw any conclusions.

The key here is bolded.

if anyone had really put a huge dig, then there is no way sagan could have been among the top-5 ppl in tht climb.

the big takeaway is tht AC seemed to be in control throughout the jenkin road. even when there was an attack, he easily bridged the gap.

Froome was distanced ever so slightly with the Contador accelerations. After Froome supposed "physiological blow" after the crest when Fuslang went the Dawg couldn't hold his wheel. Nor could he hold Nibali's when he went.

But even more to the point, what the hell is Froome doing trying got chase down Fuslang?

Not too much to read into this I don't think. When Majka can't keep up I think it's safe to assume he let go. These digs at the end were all half hearted, though Froome's cadence makes it look otherwise and not much about riding a 2 minute climb can be extrapolated to 30 minute climbs.
A nice ride by Nibali, but not really indicitive of being super strong, just solid tactics and a little luck.

Haha ye tha was what I thought too. Maybe he thought it was Nibali. But it was really dumb. He wasted energy chasing down a domestique which opened up for an succesful attack by one of his rivlals.

Anyways, regarding Contador he wasnt attacking. He went to the front to control things and avoid any surprises:

Alberto looked good in stage 2 I thought. Not really his terrain, but showed promise for the higher mountains. Looking forward to stage 8, and then even more so to stage 10.

Froome has a weakness ...he wants to be admired and liked

He is desperate imo to be as liked by British public as Wiggins but he also wants to be admired by cycling fans as an attacker and true champion...I think he is somewhat wounded by the criticism of SKY be boring

Therefore he may attack when unnecessary or to show his strength
or chase down riders who are no threat ....this needs to be exploited by the others IMO

If you are confident in your abilities you don't need to put it on show

The moment Froome vobbled away Contador seemed more intrested in what happened on his back then at the front. He really didn't showed the bodysign of a man who have lost it all.

Why Froome chased Fuglsang? He is like a dawg chasing cars.

Bertie looked fine, didnt look too threatened at all.

The Dawg, come on, what was that 'attack' ?

I thought Kirby was gonna blow his custard the way he was shouting when he had a little dig. Kirby going off on one as if he had dropped him on Alpe or something

I hope you're right:) And the bigger the stake, the crazier he gets. The presence of so-called attacking riders like Nibali and especially Alberto magnifies his hunger for being the most aggressive and out-attacking everyone.

I noticed this too and pressed mute, this man is unbelievable.
