i really missed AC in this stage.

the half-baked attempts by some guys to climb the final HC climb made me cringe.

Oleg did admit that he cried when Alberto abandoned the Tour so things would probably be 2 times as crazy as they are now. And considering that next year he's aiming for yellow and green the craziness will triple

So Sagan IS going to Tinkov, because he is winning green in the tour for as long as he is in the race and wants to. Oleg just told us without telling us.

Bjarne still believes Alberto can make it in the Vuelta, he basically said in response to alberto's tweet " He just had a bad day and the healing process isn't going as fast as he would like therefore he is pessimistic at the moment, but it's still too early to reject a possible participation in the Vuelta "

"However, we will not take any risk with Alberto, he is the one who feels his body, we will make the best choice for him. "

Personally, I don't think that he just had a bad day, I believe he got a notification from the doctors at clinica cemtro or something that makes his participation impossible

First, when I was reading that tweet,I immediately thought, ouch bad mood Berto.
On the other hand he is nit going to recover super for vuelta.I would rather see him full health in september races plus WC than bad at vuelta.

How else would you interpret "The wound healing gets complicated"? He recieved a message about it and had a bad day because of it. I'm surprised about Bjarnes comment as it gives the impression they haven't communicated about it.

I settle in my mind that Alberto do not participate in La Vuelta. Its best that way.

Thomas Bay commentator on Danish Eurosport just said that Tinkoff Saxo will come to the Vuelta with a team without captain. He interprets it as Contador will be riding but expectations should be low.

Well that is a stretch based on that little bit of info. Was there Any indication that Alberto might be there or is that pure speculation by this guy?

Ok de jongh cleared some things out.

Apperently the reason contador made that tweet last week is cause they had to clean out the wound i think. Contador himself thinks he won't make the vuelta but it's still possible.

They definfitely expect though that contador will still race this year, when is unclear.

That's good news. :) I'm hoping he will at least be able to race worlds, I know the course isn't that suited to him and winning is unlikely, but I can't help but like the idea of Contador getting himself in the rainbow jersey. It would be very just after crashing out of his number 1 goal of the season.

They were talking about possible Danish stage wins in the Vuelta, and Tinkoff Saxo info that they would ride Vuelta without a captain. He said "I interpret it as Contador will be riding" and added that the no captain info could possibly be spin.

Anybody know if Majka will ride the Vuelta?

Geez the kid road the Giro and Tour, I hope Not! Roche and Rogers also rode Giro so I have no idea who could be a captain in the Vuelta if Alberto isn't there.

Actually i was hoping for rogers.

If he wins a stage in veulta as well, he wud hav won a stage in all three GTs in a single year.

I dont know why they are forcing AC to ride the Veulta.
if he thinks he is not fit, let him rest. but i think i wud like to see him racing soon again.

You're misinterpreting what de jongh said. Contador just doubt he'll be on time for the vuelta, it's a matter of believe that saxo has, contador not. If he's not fit saxo won't make him ride it, besides contador said to de jongh he REALLY wants to ride the vuelta.

He knows he has to have vuelta in his legs if he wants some wins in september. And if he is not out of training for too long, with vuelta as preparation, he should be in the mix at the end of the year. His level is that great this year.

nooooo... I don't want contador won the world. the curse of rainbow jersey isn't worthed. Winning the world, just make you look good on a nice white jersey. But not your luck. Look at costa, he is no where than second or less. I want contador to win TDF or whatever GT he plans to participate. When he doesn't go to TDF, he can try to win the rainbow jersey.:D

you know how alberto is. He is probably impatient and want to hop on his bike. And the fact that the wound didn't follow his plan, made him have a bad mood. Bjarne is just trying to be optimistic. I guess if I were alberto, I'm running out of my patient staying on the sofa all day.

Either way, I hope he recovers well. Not sure how I feel about his participation in Vuelta. If he can't be competitive, I don't want to see him got blown up by Quintana and Froome like last year TDF. Watching Nibali accelerate leisurely and make the rest of the field (weak field) gasping for air is already made me cringe.

Do you think he is going to Vuelta to hunt for stage win and king of the mountains if he isn't in tip top shape? Imagine .. Contador in break away :D

Post Tour Alberto still leads the World Tour. If that isn't a testament to the kind of season he was having I don't know what is! 2 GTs down where he didn't score a single point and he is still ahead. It won't be long until he is overtaken considering he is home on the sofa healing but I think he might have been number 1 on the year without the accident :(.

I'd much rather he not rush to the Vuelta and heal properly than to struggle against Quintana and Froome because he couldn't train :(.

absolutely. if racing at all between now and the end of the season, it should only be races that allows him to get in shape but not demand that he battles with a GT loaded with top competitors.
