Personally, I don't think that he just had a bad day, I believe he got a notification from the doctors at clinica cemtro or something that makes his participation impossible
Very sad..but very good video, great music, effects etcfantomas said:I have been collecting footage throughout the tour, originally with the intent of putting together a triumphant video of AC's road to glory. That intent came to an abrubt end, but well, here's something.

leon993 said:Thomas Bay commentator on Danish Eurosport just said that Tinkoff Saxo will come to the Vuelta with a team without captain. He interprets it as Contador will be riding but expectations should be low.
Miburo said:Ok de jongh cleared some things out.
Apperently the reason contador made that tweet last week is cause they had to clean out the wound i think. Contador himself thinks he won't make the vuelta but it's still possible.
They definfitely expect though that contador will still race this year, when is unclear.
Carols said:Well that is a stretch based on that little bit of info. Was there Any indication that Alberto might be there or is that pure speculation by this guy?
leon993 said:They were talking about possible Danish stage wins in the Vuelta, and Tinkoff Saxo info that they would ride Vuelta without a captain. He said "I interpret it as Contador will be riding" and added that the no captain info could possibly be spin.
Anybody know if Majka will ride the Vuelta?
Carols said:Geez the kid road the Giro and Tour, I hope Not! Roche and Rogers also rode Giro so I have no idea who could be a captain in the Vuelta if Alberto isn't there.
murali said:Actually i was hoping for rogers.
If he wins a stage in veulta as well, he wud hav won a stage in all three GTs in a single year.
I dont know why they are forcing AC to ride the Veulta.
if he thinks he is not fit, let him rest. but i think i wud like to see him racing soon again.
Afrank said:That's good news.I'm hoping he will at least be able to race worlds, I know the course isn't that suited to him and winning is unlikely, but I can't help but like the idea of Contador getting himself in the rainbow jersey. It would be very just after crashing out of his number 1 goal of the season.
No_Balls said:How else would you interpret "The wound healing gets complicated"? He recieved a message about it and had a bad day because of it. I'm surprised about Bjarnes comment as it gives the impression they haven't communicated about it.
I settle in my mind that Alberto do not participate in La Vuelta. Its best that way.

absolutely. if racing at all between now and the end of the season, it should only be races that allows him to get in shape but not demand that he battles with a GT loaded with top competitors.Carols said:I'd much rather he not rush to the Vuelta and heal properly than to struggle against Quintana and Froome because he couldn't train.
