Por último, el ciclista no se mostró demasiado optimista con respecto a la contra reloj de este martes. "Tendré un dolor de piernas impresionante y a ver qué tal la hacemos", concluyó.

I guess we should expect even less now. Kwiatkowski to overtake him on GC?

Finally, the rider was not too optimistic about the time trial on Tuesday. "I'll have a stunning leg pain and see how we do it," he said.

He will podium both stage and GC. I can feel it in my tummy :)

Really hope you're right! Good thing you didn't say "I feel it in my bones" :D
And I also hope he gets to keep the Points Jersey so at least he can take a jersey home though it's not the one he wanted :(

Following the stage, Alberto Contador (Saxo-Tinkoff) said he had doubts that he could even ride the ramps near the Adriatic coast.

“It was very hard because of the very steep hills,” he said. “Sometimes you don’t believe it’s possible to go up on the bike.”

Sagan said that Contador’s tires were slipping on the pavement once rain began to fall.

“It was a very hard stage. When the rain started to fall, the gradients of 30 percent were hard to get up,” said Sagan. “I heard Contador say that, when he climbed out of the saddle, his back wheel slipped. I rode in the saddle all the time and, in the end, I got away with Vincenzo [Nibali] and stayed away to the finish line.”

Alberto said, that if he got out of his saddle going up the 30% climb, he was going to fall out of his bike. So all he wanted to do was just get over the climb and not really "care" to be in front.

That's at least a 28 on the rear. Anyone know what gearing these guys were riding today?

Well, it's clear that Contador has a lot of work in front of him. I think Froome is more vulnerable than many think, the season so far has had more to with Contador being sub par than Froome being dominant

One is made to look sub par. forcibly :p

I might be making my own assumption here, but it seems like most people on here are assuming Froome is at a pretty high level already, Berto is at a low level and only Berto will improve.

I'm not sure I see any evidence for that to be honest, if Berto improves I see no reason that Froome won't improve at a similar rate.

Alberto is looking quite vulnerable :( He is definitely lacking in all but desire and has much work to do.

Thankfully my second favorite rider Nibali took down the Sky machine. But Froome is also vulnerable when not surrounded by his Borgs.

When does Alberto ride next?
