which knee? i hope it's not the same knee that he injured in TDF 2011. Argggh.. definitely isn't a good start. He never crashed before on all the GT that he won. Is is a sign of trouble (from luck stand point)????.. Please I hope not. Saxo boys did great job already riding upfront before that.. and then... kaboom... whaaaat the hell just happen??

right knee and left shoulder according to some report, and it definitely will be an uphill battle for him .

"I was in bad luck and I hope it's nothing serious. I'm sore on both sides but I think it's superficial bruises. Now, it's time to put a lot of ice and recover on the following stages for the team time trial and I hope I'll have no problems putting elbows on the handlebars. I have a wound on the left shoulder and right knee. Now I'll be uncomfortable on the bike but there's still a lot of Tour to do.

”We all want to be at the front. I think someone from behind took me down. Now it's important to continue as if I hadn't crashed. I hope to catch some sleep and tomorrow will be another day"

Think Alberto goes down at 0:37 behind the three sky riders. Looks like he just goes down on his own, bumping into the Europcar rider and taking down the Astana rider and Cofidis rider with him.

I can't pick him out...but my eyes are an issue I've watched it 10 times on dvr recording...will watch again looking for 3 sky riders.

Far in the bottom of the screen, at 0:37, the one who goes down first. And a blue and red guy after him.

Ye I see him. A cofidis rider hits him from the back making him lose control slightly but he almost makes it past the crash but he rides into an Astana rider who brakes hard. At least he didn't hit the deck on full gas.

I think Bennati hit the deck too in the right of the pack, and a third Saxo rider looked to have rammed into the main pileup ahead Alberto.

So Alberto crashed because he hit a europcar rider in front of him?
EDIT: Which causes him to lose balance and speed, so he gets hit by an astana rider from behind immediately afterwards?

Yes agreed, pretty hard crash

was unsure whether it was him but then saw the pics I posted up thread and they seem to match with the clip, sky rider walking away + cofidis and sky guy in front of him

I can guarantee he wont be 100% tomorrow. I just hope he will OKish on the TT and then 100% by Ax3
