if this is true, that means there's nothing wrong with contador last season. After all he is human.

Thank you for saying what we have been arguing last year, in this thread.

AC just had a few bad races. that's all.

Among the senior guys, AC is the only explosive climber in the peloton.
The only guy one could watch climbing in any race. Pure poetry in motion!!!

You mean only in this race?

News Update

Richie Porte will not ride the Giro. team sky asite

That means it is Froome+Porte in TdF, trying to combat AC.

I really want to see Froome getting humiliated by AC.

Yeah, I already suspected that's going to happen. With contador is flying in his first part of the season, and Froome is a little behind with his training, sky knows that Froome will be vulnerable without Richie. After all, Roman is a strong lieutenant for Contador. Who will be the last man for Froome if it's not Richie? Wiggins? :D lol.. that guy can keep dreaming on his once upon a time when he peaked all year. Henao? with him benched for dunno how many more days, he practically behind too. Nieve? not strong enough to counter Roman. And not to mention there's Roche as well. So basically since Uran left, Sky is stretch with their roaster.

Considering Contador said that he has slight cold, beating in-form valverde today just showed that he is still strong. Hope he can keep the jersey all the way to the end.

Panic in the Sky camp.

Definite. One solid TA and Sky is really scared.

a clip from the news:
Richie Porte will join Chris Froome in Team Sky’s Liege-Bastogne-Liege line up on Sunday 27 April which also features Ian Boswell, Nathan Earle, Josh Edmondson, Peter Kennaugh, David Lopez and Danny Pate.

I think even AC coming second in Catalan race is enough to scare them. Just imagine what they would have done if JRod didn't get lucky in stage 3 of Catalunya.

Rogers, how about the clen case? Is there already an outcome in the case or...?
When he's in shape he really can help Berto more than Sutherland, imo

Nope no outcome.

Sutherland seems to be Rogers' replacement this season. Team captain for mountain stages. Keeping Berto safe and shielding him from the wind.

Sutherland is really proving himself the last couple of races. Very effective, solid and strong. I think AC sees that as well, and I hope he picks him over one of his friends, who don't seem to have to the required level anymore (although Jesus did some nice work today).

You think EBH will be there? I think he will have a free role as a stage hunter in the Giro. He will most likely have Standard and Thomas by his side on the cobblestone stage.

Also, Bennati and Tosatto is a package. They will both be there.

Tinkov of course. :D
I'm am very happy with the depth of strength in Tinkov right now. We saw last year as a team how strong they were. It will be real nice to see what they can do at the tour this year....can't wait!

dropping Valverde with 15 seconds on that kind of climb, in like 500 meters.. very impressive.

Is Contador doing the romandie? I cant wait to see him against Dawg again.

He is not. This is his last race before the Dauphiné/Suisse

Official justification: saving himself for Tour+Vuelta, etc etc

It's the norm for him. He will have the same program (up to the Tour) as in 2009, except riding Catalunya instead of Castilla y Leon.

Nice win for Contador. I bet Froome is really shaking in his fishnet skinsuit now. :D

He's bound to be a bit concerned yes, certainly more than last year. The reality is however that Froome is beast in the TT and we have seen no evidence from Contador (in the last couple of years) that he can get close to him in a flattish course.

I do hope that he destroys Sky though :)

Actually I'm thinking Froome will be glad he isn't the favourite this year, even though he's the defending champion. He's never been keen on being expected to win and taking the responsibility for the team. Of course Froome would've liked to be better by now, but I guess he'll have to see an opportunity in the current situation.

+1. Impressive indeed. Contador will take a break after PV. And He'll be back at Dauphene. So no Romandie for him. But we'll see Kreuziger there and hopefully Majka + Roche..
