Even if Nibali competes with one leg and rides tandem bike with Pinot, he'll still **** on Froome downhill :D

Such a shame there's only 1 downhill finish at the Tour! :D

So from all the above posts I think it is fair to say that at this Tour we will see AC and Froomie face off for the first time with both of them in top form. :D Wonderful!

So when Froome loses, all the skytards will complain that he was out of form?

C'mon, everyone knows that AC wasnt in form last year. Everyone knows that Vuelta win was becoz of one attack, while he was mediocre in the rest of the stages.

THis tour is going to be different. We will know who is really better. the better man will win. (unless clinic crashes)

The forum will crash during the tour. Better accept it.

Not to mention the adverts clogging up the site and forum.

I just noticed he said Sportful. Interesting. I had my trepidations about Oleg taking over, but so far I'm liking what he's doing with Tinkoff Saxo.

What has Sportful got to do with Tinkov?

It seems him coming in has brought in more resources and allowed for more refinement in the technology they've been using. Or maybe Oleg is making a more concerted effort to get his sponsors' names out. Either way, I don't recall hearing about AC being in the wind tunnel just to test clothing in all of his time with Saxo. Sure with the bike, but never just to test clothing. That's what I was getting at by mentioning Oleg.

Ah I see. Not sure that is because of Tinkov though.

i think this is just promoting sportful.

hav never heard AC doing a test of clothes.

or it is his way of saying tht no change in bike, but he is spending time in wind tunnel as well.

is oleg making an effort to ensure all sponsors are getting publicity?

I don't know if you guys notice, but Tinkoff Saxo has been doing great thing with their website and twitter to promote their sponsors. I know it doesn't mean anything since we only care about the riders most of the time, but it shows a new changes of how TS treats and works their sponsor. They have provided new channels for free advertising to their sponsors through website and social media, which is a good move because it helps attract other sponsor to join them. (because their money are well spent for free advertising). More sponsor = more money = team can acquire best of the best of everything. I work in AD agency so I immediately notice the changes in their business approach through their marketing channel.

You can't say that Oleg got nothing to do with this. I didn't like him the first time because his erratic comment about Contador last year, but I admit the guy is bringing new thinking on how to run the team from business stand point. If you go to their website, you'll see that they have been featuring their sponsors through article and also in twitter. That's another channels of advertising for sponsors besides putting logo on their jersey and show up on TV. I won't be surprise if there's more company joining TS as sponsors.

EDIT;
You'll also notice if you read the articles about the sponsors, sometime it includes the testimonial of the riders/staffs. There's nothing better to advertise your product using the riders/staff's testimonial since they use your product every race. Yup, definitely a clever advertising move by TS. Great job Oleg.

True it is getting quite annoying LOL! But I'm sure the sponsors appreciate it.

My attitude towards Oleg has also changed. Geez the guy rode 2000km ++ of the Giro! RESPECT! What other team owner has ever done anything like that during a GT?

When I become wildly rich and successful (enough so to conceal the expenditure from my wife), I pledge to ride every kilometer of any Grand Tour at which Team Christopher participates. :D (I'll also fund the team to such an excess that equipment sponsors won't be needed, and each rider will have a budget to purchase whatever bikes and accessories he or she chooses. If that's even allowed under the rules.)
