If Nibali couldn't do it, that being the giro/vuelta double (and we know how well he rode last year) - no chance Contador can do the TdF/Vuelta double especially with the narrower timeframe between the two races.

LaFlorecita said:It would be a huge mental blow for Froome if Contador would beat him uphill I think. And it would give Alberto a lot of confidence.
Jspear said:Just a reminder of the sort of pattern Contador is following this year.
Here is what he has done:
Algarve 2nd Overall
Tirreno 1st " "
Catalunya 2 " "
Pais Vasco 1 " "
The pattern is pretty simple. He will place 2nd overall at the CD and he will win the TdF!
murali said:I love this analysis.
i can live with a 2nd in Daphine if he wins TdF.
btw, his bib no is 21. thts a good sign.
LaFlorecita said:Now if it's also 21 at the Tour......
ILovecycling said:Is there a same amount of weeks between Vuelta start and Tour finish like previous years?
LaFlorecita said:Tour finish 27 July
Vuelta start 23 August
so 4 weeks
murali said:AC to start 3rd last.
the dawg will know AC's time. dont think AC can win this
Shardi said:Judging from todays prologue, Contador's legs looks quite muscular. How is his weight compared to previous seasons? Looked like he packs more punch.
Jelantik said:To expect contador to win ITT over Froome, it's just unrealistic.
LaFlorecita said:Contador used to be a prologue specialist though. so it's not entirely unrealistic. I expected them to be about even.
