No, they can't. Mick, Majka and Nico, yes, Benna and Toso, no way.

Mick would be the ideal rider to have out front. Grent descender and on the flat part towards the finish. But it wont happen this early in the race I think. They wont risk wearing out the helpers this early.

Wouldn't be surprised if Nibali has a go on the downhill today ...its his terrain
Fuglsang also good on down hill

Would like if TCS had someone in break just in case ..TCS very strong yesterday but they need to mix it up as won't be able to do that everyday

However if they are going to do it a few times they will have to ensure Contador can go in for the kill so to speak

IMO Nibali looked tired on final climb yesterday and Contador should win on long mountains stages ...

But the great thing about cycling is nothing is constant and surprises come from all sides....and the strength of your mind is for me more important than lactic thresholds

Contador himself is quite strong on the descents.

Dunno. It is a massive distance between last climb and finish line and he'll need to start thinking about householding when his personal hell is just about to begin.

That said, whatever Riis says about this stage and Monday, they have to keep an eye on every Astana going away (maybe even do it themselves, better safe then sorry). Positive signs that they have what it seems a major advantage uphill (with Rafa hitting the form in just about the right time) thus controlling the last climb would do it.

This stage has some potential and i fully expect that they calculate with Nibalis downhill awesomeness.

So Contador was just freewheeling to finish line and still was killing it. Monday should be a massacre.

He did a bad-*** interview yesterday where he uttered himself surprised of seeing how Nibali followed his free-wheeling and thus decided to gain a couple of seconds. It is a couple of pages back.

Still think that we have to wait for the Pyreenes until ****s get real. But distance crippled to one minute after Alps is not out of order.

Can't wait for tomorrow. The best would be a medium-high pace on the Petit Ballon and Platzerwasel. Group down to 40.
Having Roche, Rogers, Majka with him after those climbs is important. 2 of them could set a very high pace on Chevrères. Last Tinkoff man to give everything in the first km of La Planche, Contador to attack immediately.

Looks like Contador will have additional mountain power from other team. The way Navarro said, it won't be a surprise that he would be lending hand to Contador in the mountain.

No regrets his departure from Saxo Bank: "No, not really. In two years, I think I have had some good results for the Cofidis team without having any experience as a leader. Frankly, today, if Alberto calls me back I’d have no problem going," says honest. "Everything is possible. I would love to work for Alberto Contador again. Do the work for him, I always liked that. In fact, I am very happy to do climbing work. I did that for a large part of my career and being a leader working to have experienced the greatest joys," he says.

"When I was able to ride alongside a rider like Alberto Contador, I was virtually guaranteed victory 90% of the time. Of course it's gratifying to see your leader win knowing that you have contributed to this victory," he says in the French sports daily.

Only if Kreuziger was there ,they could isolate him last climb and make Nibali chase Kreuziger in the last kms to waste his energy:(

that's why the lost of kreuziger is a huge blow. What would happen if he is in the team. I guess we won't know :D

I hope.to see the attack on col de chevreres in the 15% sector 'cause la planche is a short climb to make big differences.
however he can attacck, early, on the second km of la planche after the "sprint" of his ultimate man

Completely agree, I either see Majka and Rogers ride tempo on Chevrères, Rogers leading the descent and then Roche leading Contador out in the first km of La Planche ;

or Contador attacking on the steep part of Chevrères. He can't wait till the final 1 or 2km of the stage.

Tomorrow we find out what TS and Alberto have. Hopefully it is enough to make a decent dent in the deficit :) I think they will Rock and Nibali will fight like the champion he is but Alberto will Fly Away!!!! At least I hope so :)

I can see it happening, but I hope AC doesn't smash everyone - I don't want the GC to be decided before the 1st rest day.

I think the sky bots will try to control the last climb for a porte attack...

Porte to attack and put time into... AC? I don't see it happening. But it would make for a better race going into the rest day.

Don't worry, the Tour won't be decided on this climb :) Nibali still has a big advantage and there's no way Contador will take back even half of it;)

The climb is not super long (6 km) and but it is steep. I know Contador prefer the longer climbs, but on the other han the steepness might favor him over Porte and Nibali. Still it wont be decided tomorrow as you say, but would be nice to see AC take 30 secs on Nibs and Nibs take 30 secs on Porte.
