Speaking of which, do you think Betancur will stay race season fat or will he go Michelin Man fat in the off season?

So what about Ventoux?

2013 Froome 59 minutes
2009 Contador while smoking the pipe on Schleck's wheel 58:45

Countless times we've argued why such a long and windy ( Ventoux !!) climb is not a good yardstick. Too many variables. 2013 Froome was very good but nothing we've not seen before. Nothing you'd be shocked from a performance or W/kg point of view.
And always comparing 2013 Contador. It's like I would go on and compare the current Contador with 2010 Froome.

You intentionally miss one strong point: the Verbier stage was by far softest mtf in the tour for the last 10-20 years. Though, not surprising from the guy who's able to admit Contador's defeat only when he's dropped downwards like pack of garbage as on ax-3. in all other cases 'he easily could, but didn't want (need) to. :D

He himself said that he had trained as hard as never before and reached his absolute best fitness.

He said it million times.

Contador 09' is superior, deal with it. ;)

Just like Schleck 09' is better than Porte 13' ;)

Also, it's harder to create gaps when the stage profile is soft, or the final climb not that steep. So you've just added to our point.

Bringing 2013 again? Well, I guess there we go again:

Just like Froome left in the dust like a potato on several MTFs on:

Vuelta 12' - Vuelta 14' - Volta a Catalunya 14' - Dauphiné 14' (Emosson + cote de montagny) - Humiliated by anyone in every race before Vuelta 2011

Which defeats? :D I'll always admit that Froome was miles ahead of Contador in 2013. What's your point? Given it was a single MTF with no climbs before....to beat Schleck by 40 seconds and the rest of the world by 1 minute is even more impressive given the topography.

When did I ever say he could, but didn't want? Ridiculous accusation.

It makes people look fat, so when they are actually fat they still look fat?

Presumably the journalist did not want to chose between Alberto and Valverde

Well they chose by making him 2nd above Valverde :). Spanish jurnos can't be accused of being biased!

Was building a form slowly than Alberto, he had no spring peak.So it doesnt mean anything.
He still lost 20'' in the first uphill part of the ITT with a lot better preparation than Contador had in the Vuelta.

Given his performances in Burgos and Tirreno I don't think you can say that it was a (big) handicap for Quintana that it was in an ITT.

Moment of celebration on Kilimanjaro!!

Yesterday morning we reached the summit of Kilimanjaro, the Uhuru Peak, on the roof of Africa.

We have all safely returned to the base of the mountain and we’re proud of the many days of dedicated teamwork!!

According to the chief mountain guide on Kilimanjaro, we suffered the worst weather conditions in a decade. Heavy and relentless rain, fog, very low temperatures and snow made the journey very challenging.

Not surprisingly, Alberto Contador was the first to reach the top in a record time! He was exceptionally fast and reached the top at 4:30am followed by Michael Valgren. Their local guide was astonished by how rapidly they climbed.

51 team members out of 72 reached the top, which was above our 70 % target. Five people were forced to give up during first days, 15 had to give up only a few hundred meters from the top!!!
