2013 Froome 59 minutes
2009 Contador while smoking the pipe on Schleck's wheel 58:45
Countless times we've argued why such a long and windy ( Ventoux !!) climb is not a good yardstick. Too many variables. 2013 Froome was very good but nothing we've not seen before. Nothing you'd be shocked from a performance or W/kg point of view.
And always comparing 2013 Contador. It's like I would go on and compare the current Contador with 2010 Froome.![]()
He himself said that he had trained as hard as never before and reached his absolute best fitness.

Though, not surprising from the guy who's able to admit Contador's defeat only when he's dropped downwards like pack of garbage as on ax-3. in all other cases 'he easily could, but didn't want (need) to.![]()

He said it million times.

Was building a form slowly than Alberto, he had no spring peak.So it doesnt mean anything.Donkey said:probably didn't watch Tirreno or I don't know...
He still lost 20'' in the first uphill part of the ITT with a lot better preparation than Contador had in the Vuelta.ILovecycling said:Was building a form slowly than Alberto, he had no spring peak.So it doesnt mean anything.

Given his performances in Burgos and Tirreno I don't think you can say that it was a (big) handicap for Quintana that it was in an ITT.
Moment of celebration on Kilimanjaro!!
Yesterday morning we reached the summit of Kilimanjaro, the Uhuru Peak, on the roof of Africa.
We have all safely returned to the base of the mountain and we’re proud of the many days of dedicated teamwork!!
According to the chief mountain guide on Kilimanjaro, we suffered the worst weather conditions in a decade. Heavy and relentless rain, fog, very low temperatures and snow made the journey very challenging.
Not surprisingly, Alberto Contador was the first to reach the top in a record time! He was exceptionally fast and reached the top at 4:30am followed by Michael Valgren. Their local guide was astonished by how rapidly they climbed.
51 team members out of 72 reached the top, which was above our 70 % target. Five people were forced to give up during first days, 15 had to give up only a few hundred meters from the top!!!
