So, best male rider is just a popularity contest.
Best overall rider is ofcourse a contest where all voters are first tested for objectivity and have to have an cycling IQ of over 130.
It's pointless trying to defend the indefensible!

No I see it.

You're hilarious

What makes it even funnier is that in both polls, the exact same people voted. It was impossible to vote for one but not the other.

Surely it's a case of people who don't like Contador voting for Nibali. I don't really think anyone could honestly believe he had a better season than Contador, could they? The only race he won was one that Contador crashed out of. (I prefer Nibali than Contador by the way, but mostly I just prefer the underdog in every race, so I rarely get the chance to be up for Contador ;) )

The confusing part is that Contador won male rider of the year ahead of Nibali (32 vs 23 %), while Nibali won rider of the year ahead of Contador (24 vs 22 %). And it's the same people who voted cause it was one big poll in which you had to vote in all categories before they got registered :p

Just dropping by to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Here's hoping 2015 brings A.C. several jerseys in flattering colours. Always thought he looked good in pink, myself. And who doesn't look good in yellow?

As for red…well.

Have a good one!

It is not really that confusing. Studies in psychology show that even asking the same question for the 2nd time would produce different results. Also, positioning of a question in a poll also has plenty to do with results it produces (very easy to skew results in a direction you want them to be). It all has to do with the cognitive biases and what triggers are used before/during asking the question.

Too bad you had to reply to his post. Ignoring him like the rest did was really the best option.

Very interesting analysis, I get it. Too bad people here are not interested in discussing this. #SelfIndulgence

A free AC T shirt up for grabs for a small donation to a charity of your choice. A well meaning but inappropriate Xmas present received today:) I'll never wear it but perfectly suited to a Contador fan not shy of showing their love;)

I'm thinking La Flo/Electress/Carols here as it's on the small size (no offence ladies). But any bidders welcome:)

First come and all that..I'll meet the mailing costs...

Very kind of you :). I'll pass as I've never worn a fan tee shirt and I've made all my xmas charity donations already.

Maybe a picture of it would be appropriate? I might make an exception!

Merry Christmas to all!!!

OH, why not? I don't mind branding myself and contributing to charity and since I'm going to the Giro and Tour next year, I may as well advertise my allegiance. At least it'll stop everyone assuming I support TeamSky because I'm English!

If it suits, I'll donate to Cerebra, a charity for brain injured children here in the UK, which I've supported for years now. Seems fitting, in the circs.

Not sure what small means, but if not my size 10 frame, then my young niece will quite happily wear it every day, since she's a little Contador fan also (isn't brain washing wonderful?!) PM with what you deem reasonable donation.

Won't be in a auction, tho. And I hope it isn't frightful - like please tell me it doesn't have his face all over it because that I really would never wear (maybe as pyjamas ? ;o) )!

I thought we had to PM ferryman... But it doesn't say so in his post... Think I imagined it :D
Anyway I wouldn't mind if you gave it to Electress ferryman :)
