gap of 1.50 minutes, are you crazy? gps are always wrong, the gap could be 1 minute, is impossible that landa lost 1.50 minutes.

Don't want to burst your bubble but Landa could've easily pushed on if Astana were not concerned with getting Aru also on the podium. How much he could've closed down on Contador is a mystery but he was hardly on his limit in that second group.

LOL so why was ARU working on the front???? Because Landa was spent and Kangert needed a break. LMFAO!!!

Dude, there's a difference between doing an effort for not even half of the climb and for the whole climb in the case of Contador. Landa looked burnt when he reached the group, rewatch the climb.

And yes I know Contador is not in top form, that's why there's still hope for the Tour because to me he is spending too much effort in this Giro even though it's making him even more of a legend.

But Contador had a smaller gap to bridge on Mortirolo then Landa did on Ologno. Plus Landa had to chase on a Contador who was riding his own tempo, Contador had to chase on a Landa who was waiting for Aru who was struggling.

Never mind. The only thing i say is that you can't say Alberto was stronger then Landa on the climb. I hope we will get a fair duel between the two on Cervinia or Finestre. The only thing we did not had this Giro

Yea you didn't see the bit where Aru was dropped or ? You know on the actual climb that we're talking about, not 30km later ?

I didn't see a single screen of Landa looking even remotely in trouble, someone can post one please where he's apparently "burnt" and "spent" ? I'd love to see it. Sometimes I don't think people in this forum even watch the same race.

We need a good one on one battle on Finestre between Contador and Landa. Basso - Evans style from the 2010 Giro would be fun, side by side fighting for every cm of advantage.

He is a throwback to the greats of yesterday year. He has the Panache and Legs to rival any of them in a stage race. Cream always rises to the top. It doe not matter what the situation, he can deal with it, year after year. They broke the mould when they made Contador !

Actually when Landa had catched the bigger group (Movistar in front) and Contador and Hesjadal were together gap between Contador and Landa was 2 minutes. Only on later parts of descent and end flat section the gap got smaller (because this was rather big group with many top 10 riders).

+ Landa pretty much started chasing where mountain started not like 10km away + used cars (slipstream) as we could see from TV.

I don't think Contador has done anything special this Giro. Maybe the time trial.

But, not Mortirolo. Not today. No Maddona.

He's been average and hasn't pushed hard but won by virtue of still being better than everyone else and Astana choosing the wrong guy.

Great Contador was Fuente De. Great Contador was that Tirreno stage (IMO the 2nd best individual win this millenium after Flandis). Great Contador was the 2011 Giro where with a team just as crap he destroyed everyone everywhere. Great Contador were the 3 stages in 2011 of the Tour when he shook up the gc, and especially telegraph Galibier. Great Contador was winning the 2009 Tour despite his team trying to kill him from within.

This Giro has been nothing special. And that's ok because he needs to be good for the Tour.

If he pulls of that one though, this Giro together with the Tour will together be his greatest achievement.

If he wasn't burnt, you're saying he WILLINGLY lost 1'13 because why? When Aru momentarily popped, Landa didn't dropped back for him, Kangert did. He was cooked. It happens. He's human, not a robot.

When Landa dropped his teammate pulling him he was around 1.25 down on Contador. So he gained around 18 secs on him from there. And remember, Contador no doubt wasn't going full speed, he had absolutely no reason whatsoever to do so.
