You don't see the muscles in that angle, also he's wearing a longer short and not going full out. I'm confident he's as thin as he was in 2014, look for the Marcha Contador 2014 pics, you'll see he didn't look very sharp there either. It doesn't mean anything.

Why does he even bother to organise a cyclotourist race if he's just gonna ride it alone?

Huge lack of respect for those amateur riders, 99% of whom signed up because they thought they'd get to ride alongside him.

I don't think Katusha is interested in him. They never have been in the biggest riders. Only in potential great stuff and young riders.

And with Zakarin they have a really strong GC men for the next 10 years.

In previous editions, he was riding with them till the end, this year on the flat parts but then decided to test his legs maybe.
Which gives that 90% of the time he's riding with the amateurs.

It's quite incredible to see people judge from one picture or one moment lol.

Its commonly known that Contador just takes off at some points during those events
Well, he shouldn't. If dozens of people are paying good money to ride with you, you can't just ride away and say "See you on the next flat section, guys!".

There you go, Marcha 2014. Doesn't look that sharp from this angle. One picture doesn' t mean anything.

Dozens? Almost a thousand, actually, and the participation fee is between 25 and 45 euros depending if you have a Spanish federation licence and if you want a jersey.

Even more reason to stay with them throughout.

Maybe those people want to see Alberto push on the climbs so they can see how long they can hang on. How can you judge?
Can you imagine Taylor Swift going backstage for drinks during a concert and telling fans to keep singing her songs on their own? No way.
