There's nothing fun about the Tour, it's a predictable, corporate money-making machine. I wouldn't like this race even if Alberto won it 20 times. But believe whatever you want

PS I hate the "Bertie" nickname. I blame Kirby for getting that en vogue.

Yeah, Bertman is even worse than Bertie
I call him Berti sometimes (usually when my fat fingers misspell Berto on my phone) but that's alright. Bertie or Berty, pronounced the British way, is terrible
Also hate when Dutch people call him Bert or Bertje

Yeah, Bertman has too many associations for me with a certain tennis player who's too reknown for losing any big match.

I kinda like Bertje for a certain Hans Teeuwen sketch though.

Given that his dogs name is Tour.

He has a bit of an obsession with the TDF these days, but he got his dog in 2008, it was by far his biggest victory at that point. He also had two other dogs, one named Etna after the volcano (obviously) and another named Gorla after the Subida a Gorla which is a prestigious amateur race he won in 2001.

I also think Berto's age is showing. He has really turned into a diesel climber. On the other hand, his numbers are still very high. Maybe he's just unlucky that the others have stepped up their game as well.

Obviously, but you don't have to go that far. See 2014. I have even put here a video from his performance at TA that year.

In fact, in 2012 he also showed a much lesser kick than in the previous years.
Maybe that is related to him having a much lower cadence since his ban.
