Just saw a cameraman alone in the wilderness, 1.6 kms from the top, taking a photo of Landa and Contador as they climbed past on the steep gradients. Lucky bastard :)

And it would be an epic photo; I want to see it!

Whatever position he ends up with this finish, this was a great day. Love to see Alberto animate a race. What a great rider to watch!

I think this short punchy stage suited his current form very well. Hope he gets better for the Alps, I would love to see him get a stage win. Still very good to see him at the front changing the race. Seems like he everyone commentating is happy to see him there as well. Good day!

It is interesting that he is very good on short stages. Eventhough the stage is short the climbs were as hard as on longer 200km stages so his climbing ability is good.

Nice stage. I was hoping to the end that Berto could somehow take the win. Nevertheless this must provide a great mental boost, even though he knows that he's still some way off his best legs

AC did a good ride today. His form is as good as Barguil. If he wants to win the stage he would have to better than Barguil, Landa or Quintana. So next week when he fully recovers, we'll see round 2?

It certainly seems his problem nowadays is more endurance than anything else. But we knew that before.

Strange never the less. When you are becoming old, you loose your punch, but not so much endurance. And while he lost his punch, he also lost endurance.

At least he got most aggressive rider award today. It's something.

Oh my coverage ended, I didn't know that. Well deserved :). At least he got to step on the podium and wave!

Contador does what Contador does. When people start to give up on him, he manages to do something truly great.

I agree he did a good ride today but to say truly great is way over the top. There are a lot of riders who get into breaks everyday but are not classed as truly great but because he does it, it is. He was allowed to get away today but overall he did do a much better ride. Hopefully he can get better now as the race goes on as others around him tire.
