On the 25th, there'll be a docu about Berto on Spanish television.

Berto has built a "museum" in his home

Those 3 Giro and Tour trophies on the background.
There are 3 tour and 3 Giro trophies in the background
3 trophies of both Giro and Tour

Wasn't he obliged to return 2 of them?

Wow, yes. My fault. He was not.
Schleck and Scarponi received 3-D copy of them and selfie with Alberto.
They just made a new trophy for them. Do you think Andy and Scarpa would have been happy with a trophy with Alberto's name on it?

Well, they should be happy with selfies. Trophies with his name would be additional awards (yes, maybe not enough deserved).

I already miss the great one, he isn't the best in terms of palmares but in panache, charisma, heart, show, magic, killer accelerations, NO ONE has ever come close, not even the mythical (but overrated) Pantani

I would love to have his palmares.
Every fan in the world would love his palmares, but I do think it's kinda true that he underperformed outside the GTs that he won.

He’s still won some great races outside the GT’s and was close so many other times. He’s got as many week long stage race overall GC wins as Froome and 2 less than Valverde. This was looking at just “top” stage races on procycylingstats. There’s more results than just these of course.

I think he’s done just fine outside of GT’s. He seems to be right up there with the other current GT riders. I guess, of course, anyone could wish for more.....

Contador has 8 victories between P-N, T-A, VaC, VaPV, TdR, CdD & TdS.
Both Valverde and Froome have 6.

Yeah I knew those numbers weren’t perfect. That was just a quick look up at what procyclingstats shows on their overview page for each rider profile.

It was pouring all day and I spent a few hours wrapping presents and watching the panache, heart, magic and charisma of the Great One. He is missed but at least I was lucky enough to be a fan during the era of Contador!

He is second in my heart, only to Il Pirata. You had to see that one when it was happening to understand his impact; he was truly Magical!

And those numbers don’t include the ones he was stripped of, which would include another PN and a Catalonia, which he never won again. Plus he has a few wins in a few discontinued stage races.

Those numbers do include Contador's Catalunya and Valverde's Romandie.

Setmana Catalana didn't belong in the same category as the other races.

Fantastic stuff, unfortunately the medical part was a bit of a bridge too far for my basic Spanish. Also I would have liked it to be more chronological, but that's personal of course.

Interesting thing that his mother said she'd absolutely refuse to do it all over again.

"No Alberto, I refuse to go through all this cycling crap again. You're just gonna play football, just like all other Spanish kids."
"But mom, in football you need a good team to attack well"
"Oh mierda"

No idea honestly
