^ True he's probably just raring to go!!

Yes, i think he is itching to go. I think it will take a fresh Froome to stage any kind of battle with Alberto at this Vuelta. It reminds me of Giro and he wasn't sure about his form there. I think what alberto needs for form is motivation and hunger. he has both present at this Vuelta.

Alberto said he was on the front with Sørensen anyway so he decided to go for it because "grand tours can be won by seconds" and if he "comes into a good position again tomorrow he'll go for the bonus seconds again".

Ahh, the good old standard cliches. :)

Was this intentional? If so he really is worried about Froome! :)

Free time why not take it?
you take time whenever you can, that is racing instinct. Only IDIOTS think I can drop everybody mins in mountains so I don't need time on flat!! You never know what is going to happen tomorrow.

I think the telling quote is this one:

'As for the two upcoming summit finishes, Contador said they were "very different. Arrate [on stage 3] is short and punchy, whereas Valdezcaray is much longer and gentler. It'll be difficult to attack on Valdezcaray, though, if it's windy - it's very exposed at the top.'

It will be difficult to attack on Valdezcaray. On Arrata? Not so much! ^^

Btw Bertie is a bit concerned about stage 3 and says he would have preferred the first stage that finish on a climb to come later in the race so he could have got more racing miles.

Mindgames. It is not that tough (or long) climb anyway.

He also said that his first week will be poor but this far we have seen him dragging his team to a merited spot in the prologue and winning sprints(!!) so i wouldnt bet against fireburners tomorrow.

What AC says publically should officially be concidered desinformation.

"At Sky we have set a precedent now," Wiggins continued. "If we are going to dominate cycling and win three grand tours in a year, we have to start building to that GC thing

Contador better crush him in 2013. What does that guy think? That he's god now cause he won a tour?

Win a tour with Contador at 100 % and then you can say whatever you want.

Seriously Contador, drop him like a stone on alpe d'huez.

Edit: I know he didn't mean that he would them all himself but it's still pretty damn cocky knowing he won a tour without Contador and Schleck.

How is it cocky ?

Dave Brailsford goal after Tour win is to win 3 GT's in One Year. It's a goal. Nothing cocky about it ?

Would you say he was cocky when he said there would be British Tour winner within 5 years when Sky was set up ? Noo... because it was his set goal, however hard is was.

And it's obviously not about Wiggo winning all of them... it's about Sky Team winning 3 of them in one year...

Is it wrong to have some hard goals to try and achieve ? ? ?

No I would say he was being lucky that Contador was suspended.

Since 2007 Contador hasn't lost a GT besides tour '11 and we know why he lost that. Aslong as no one can beat Contador in a GT i'm going to call it cocky.

Edit: Didn't you read my edit in the post about not meaning that wiggins wins them all?

I'm just saying, first beat Contador before you're going to start talking like you can do anything after winning 1 GT without at that moment the 2 best GT-riders, that's all.

He won 1, one!
Sky won 1, one!

Starting to talk about dominating cycling based on 1, one, grand tour win without the best of gc riders in it, is in my opinion...bold! Maybe even stupid!
I admit they have an awesome team and can do a lot, but..

First of all, TdF was a route perfectly designed to a guy like Wiggins, and for that matter rest of the Sky team, it couldn´t be better.

Second, how on earth do he think he will be able to follow both Schleck and Contador when they set off? With another Sky train?
They drop like flies, and he have to do it by him self, something he already showed he can´t, Froom dropped him when ever he wanted to, so even think he can win another tour is to say being a bit too optimistic and I wouldn´t be scared to make a bet he won´t.

But that´s my opinion.

What is it with some of these characters (Wiggins and Bruyneel) with this need to announce their intentions of "dominating" the sport? It only makes me root for them to fail spectacularly.
