Lol, and they sit up enough to let the chasers back on. At least Canyon-SRAM have some kind of ambition I guess.

Edit: now we're seeing some retro action with Marianne and Annemiek on the chase.

Very solid gap for her now, nobody wants to expend energy now to not have it on the Cauberg, but there are enough teams with domestiques there that there really ought to be some commitment. This is where teams like SD Worx have the problem, because somebody has to work for somebody else and we've already established that it sure as hell won't be Kopecky that does that. Also AVV hasn't looked too great so far, at what point does Movistar decide to either expend Floortje and Liane on Annemiek, or vice versa? Floortje coming back gives them at least one option like that.

I don't think Paladin has enough to hold on on the Cauberg all told unless the bunch really screws the pooch, but she is earning Chabbey and Niewiadoma a free ride. Brown joining her gives them more chance of staying away, but Brown will probably outclimb her too.

Edit: it's Teutenberg in the Trek team car and Magnus Bäckstedt in Canyon's.

It's a shame the women don't do the Eyeserbosweg and Keutenberg closer to the finish.

Ah, Soraya has broken and Liane is stomping it. Komm Liane!!!

Really feels like this is one year too far for Annemiek, but we'll see once the real mountains start.

Edit: nobody willing to help Lippert, and Demi-Goddess has a gap! Lippert works, works some more, flicks the elbow, and for once Niewiadoma isn't eager to take up the front. What is it about the last kilometre of the Amstel Gold Race that has this total hex over her?

He you ain't fooling us Vollering and Kopecky, you still hate each other:smilingimp:

van Vleuten really subpar this season, give the leadership to Liane for LBL I'd say!

AVV still has not looked good this year.
eta. And CULs positioning is not as good as last year, might be due to form, but she had it at some point aka SB. Maybe the only major focus is tdff.

And Liane's reward for all that work on the Cauberg is to get no help in the chase, get caught by the group behind, and then dropped in the sprint because she expended all her energy on attacking on the Cauberg and chasing Vollering. Quite a few riders in that prior selection absolutely botching that final kilometre to let the group back. OK, Kasia got 4th and possibly wouldn't have done better from the group, but what exactly does Riejanne Markus (14th) or Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (8th) gain from sitting on in that final kilometre?

What we're Trek doing? Van Anrooij looked she was working for ELB/Spratt chasing things down and then they were nowhere on Cauberg and she ends up third. Surely should have been other way round.

Marksu did attack int he final kilomtere though, but Ash should have attacked as well instead of just rolling through to the front after Demi's attack.

Georgi just continues to get decent results every race.

That Vollering/Kopecky one two combination is pretty lethal it has to be said.
Text book today though, rather than the sheer excitement of SB.

It was a given that not only had they already lost 1st, but 2nd as well with Kopecky in the group, so they should just have ignored her and kept going to at least fight it out for 3rd.

Twice when Van Vleuten attacked she stopped pedalling and then looked down, did she have problems with her gears or is that just how she behaves when she sits up?
