Maybe it's time to abandon the hope that old Andy will ever return and go on and accept his present level.:(

He is going to finish GC better than last year, and tomorrow is the day that suits the best for him...Last year he performed as a top 15 rider, with a day in Pyrynees with Froome and Quintana, so this year he could improve that and people start to talk form him as a top rider, something far that he has showed this year. To get a level to fight for the podium..it looks impossible, but last year it was too years without a GT, and this year is different.
He should improve his level from current too much to do that anyway.

I doubt he will ride Le Tour.

As Christian points out in previous posts in this thread, Trek don't really have anyone that much better to ride the Tour. Should make the team easily. Even if he doesn't really do anything in Suisse.

It's all in the bag already for the TdF

He will be co-leader with his brother Franck at the TDF.

Although even Demol says it would be nice he'd show anything today or tomorrow, bu he trusts Andy, referring to 2011 where Andy lost the stage from De Gendt but was 2nd in the TDF

Unfortunately for Trek, do think they have any other reasonable choice? Might as well try to sell Andy and Frank - perhaps get lucky and have Spartacus in the jersey for a day or so? At this point I don't even see Andy winning a stage from a break.

<I'm late to the conversation - apologies if this has been addressed ad nauseum.>

Given his last 3 years, one of his best performances. If he can make again that giant step he used to do after Tour de Suisse...

Should make the team to do what ? Get in breakaways ? He is supposed to be the team leader and he gets dropped early in the TDS while Tony Martin loses minimal time. His career is obviously at the crossroads unless he wants to ride for someone else as a domestique.

I was disappointed yesterday, I hoped for more.

But still his overall performance this year is way ahead compared to last years. Maybe he just had bad legs yesterday.

I hope for a Top 10 today and the usual improvement till the start of the Tour.

Schelck's form curve:

A couple of weeks ago he would have been OTL in the TdS TT. He looks ready for the tour.

I would be happy with a Top 20. I think a Top 5 might crash the forums a la Froome Style :)

This. This guy is done. He may get a top 20 at the Tour or a top 10 at some other stage race some day but he's done being a protagonist for victory in the biggest races.

There's like an inverse relationship between Froome's form curve and Schleck's form curve. After the 2011 Tour, with Andy's last show of awesomeness on the Galibier, Froome started going full *** in that Vuelta.

Then in 2012, Froome was nowhere until the Dauphine were Andy fractured his pelvis, then suddenly Froome had super sayan ability again.

In 2013 Schleck shows himself on Alpe d'huez, next moment Froome gets dropped like a stone by Quintana and Purito

In 2014 Froome gets obliterated in the end of the Dauphine, one week later Schleck starts getting top 35's in Tour de suisse stages

This cannot be a coincidence

Did andy got drop again from breakaway and then the yellow jersey group? What's the matter with this guy? How can he chase a stage win if he keeps getting dropped from breakaway? It'll be interesting to see if Trek is still going to take him to TDF. He should start to win 1 week race first before taking on 3 weeks race.
