it's pity. We are looking forward to the Legend's comeback in 2013 then. Cycling without Andy Scheck is like heaven without God! :)

He still can ride Beijing (ride without any pressure in Third World of cycling), but I doubt that this will happen.

This is pretty much a lost year for Schleck, he better do the tour down under in 2013 and a lot of other early races. After having so few race days this season he will need a lot more race days then he would normally need in 2013.

I doubt that, tons of serious racing is contradictory to AS's racing philosophy :D

Australia is a nice place to have beer though, so he might make the trip down under and meet up with old pal Stuart o' Grady.

I mean his second place in the 2010 Tour where he matched Contador in the climbs and actually attacked during the race. Much better than his 2009 and 2011 showings. Of course you could say LBL is his best moment, but I'm strictly speaking of GTs.

Some people argued that Contador was not at his best in 2010 neither was he in 2011 for other reasons. But for me Schleck has never been more impressive than in the 2010 Tour and he could have won the race if he had ridden a little more aggressively. Contador had a bad TT by his standards and he really had to fight to hold off Schleck. I think that was most tired I have seen Contador after a stage. I actually thought Schleck looked better on some of the climbs than Contador and that is rare. Can Schleck get back to that sort of form ? I hope so. The more competition for Contador the better.

He might return to racing... bla bla bla.. In other words. He won't. We've seen this before.
Ah I hope he does. Still, even if he takes part, I don't see him with any result other than DNF and then off to Beijing :D

The "Legend" will be riding l Binche-Tournai-Binche.

Little bit of an odd choice ... doesn't it have cobbles in it? Not necessarily the best for him to begin with, plus with his hip maybe not 100% and not having ridden in 4 months. But there are not too many races left at this point!

Only Andy? no Legend?!!!
Well, I should consider that forum neophytes read the thread too so one might not understand me, if I said 'the Legend' always. :)

I've been here for years and I still have a problem associating his name with the word "legend". I figure it must be a typo every time I see it.:D

I hope he can get back to his best form. I have missed watching him race this year and next years Tour will be even better with him there taking on Contador and Froome.

So your saying Froome has no chance even if he's in the form he was at this years Tour? He still has ground to make up but I don't think hes that far away.

Yes. a 80% AC has already dismantled him at the Vuelta, on the ITT and the high mountains. Against AS, yes again as he is the only one who has proved he can live with AC at GT level when both are in form.

Saying Froome has no chance against Contador because of what happened in the Vuelta isn't really fair, Froome was fatigued from the tour and Olympics and just got worse the farther into the Vuelta he went.

I feel pretty safe saying wiggins can never hold a candle to Contador.

Froome however seems to get exponentially stronger year after year. I would have bet my house that he wouldnt podium the 2011 vuelta and im not a gambler.

I wont be surprised if 2 years from now we see Froome contending f1 in a pedal cart let alone winning the tour.

What is surprising is that all of Sky's advanced training methods and state of the art scientific mumbo jumbo couldn't anticipate that Froome would be fatigued and drop out of contention at the Vuelta. They will argue that he still achieved a 4th place but he was a huge 10 minutes behind the winner.
Froome admitted that the explosive accelerations and the aggressive riding of Contador and the other Spaniards was too much for him. That won't change at the Tour. Of course he will be better prepared and fresh for the battle but
with Contador, the Schleck's, Samu, Valverde w/ Quintana, and a year older and wiser Pinot, it will be a gauntlet of climbers that will be bringing the pain in the mountains. It definitely won't be the cakewalk that was the 2012 Tour.
Just imagine how fatigued he'll be after the 2013 Tour.
