pretty ridiculous that they don't let him race. kind of missed him. he should sign for another team this year. half a year lost would be a disaster if he says he's in great form.

+1 if I was him I'd sue Leopard too, spank Becca's fat a$$ for the last bit of cash that he still has, but at the same time start looking for another team for the rest of the season.

Just a shame Vini Fantini isn't racing the Vuelta  Maybe Katusha could be a shot though?!

He had already been given a race schedule and was supposed to race Tour de Wallonie, Tour de Pologne, Vuelta and Il Lombardia. He had participated in team camps and just came back from a recon camp in Spain.

Says he currently weighs 61 kg

that's ridiculous, seems there are two types of climbers these days

Short/normal height + normal weight

and tall + uber skinny

Ill say to you even more. There are more guys of second type. :)

I've always liked Frank Schleck despite his act at the Giro last year. I wish he can find a team this year and race all the big races. Why is it that some guys come back from suspension just like they were in holidays and some others find it though to even get a team?

If Froome is simply going to win coz of the TTs then it is not worth it. And thats the point a worthy TdF winner should be good at other stages also. Not simply make up too much time in the TT and ride the other stages comfortably.

WTF??? I take it you weren't around for the tours before Big Mig.

The above from 1987 didn't take all the climbers out of contention. Ironically, most were in contention until the Ventoux TT.

All throughout the history of the Tour winners were superb time trialists, who could, at least, hang on during the climbs.
Pure specialists very rare there, contrary to the other two GTs.

That's a good question. I was suprised too. We all know that as soon as a rider gets ban, the team usually parts ways with them. Example, contador, valverde. So logically these riders already know that they need to find a team. In the case of radioshack, it sounded like Frank never leaves radioshack. *or maybe it's just in his mind*. In all fairness, we haven't heard radioshack said anything in public about frank position in the team during his ban. Now, he is due to be back in a week, they just dumped him like that. They should have been just said at that time, that frank isn't part of team anymore. I think the situation right now is not fair for frank. If the silver lining of this action is to teach the schleck brothers who has been getting an easy ride all the time during their career, this one is a little too harsh and not fair in my opinion. Maybe in the long run, it serves them as a wake up call, and just like anyone else, they need to justify their big salary with a performance.

So it'll be interesting to see if frank will sign with other team and what happen with andy? Or trek will negotiate with him now, since he is a free agent and trek has a bargain leverage since frank hasn't been showing any promising result? or maybe he put his tail between his leg and crawling back to Bjarne?:D *imagine frank becomes contador domestique*

I believe he still has some WT points that might be important in getting a team.

Wasn't there a rule that dopers don't count for WT points ?

There was also a rule that no ex-non-negative rider could be a DS but...

UCI rules are about as strong and long lasting as a Schleck on a decent.

Yes, there is a rule and it is still in place. For the next two years, Schleck's points will not be valid (WT license team ranking). Same situation for Contador.
And what's about his points from the first half of the 2012.?
He wasn't suspended then, and those points should be taken into account for 2014., if I'm right.

I believe they should count as long as he is not stripped of the results in the races he obtained them in.

Just saw an english interview with Andy responding to Frank being dumped. I like the response, pretty powerful stance and perhaps for the first time I saw some maturity in the boy. I think the last 12 months of adversity will be beneficial to Andy career, starting with this year's tour.

Game on.

it must be tough for Andy riding for a team he no longer cares about. In a report I just read, it does not look like he'll be riding with Trek for 2014. So that means both Schlecks will be in search of a new team.

If he podiums at this years tour, finding a team will be a lot easier. But if his downtrodden attitude gets the best of him, and he becomes an "also ran" it will be quite difficult I think to find a team to accomodate he and Frank.

I just don't see any teams at the moment where they could really excel in ?

well- as folks here have pointed out- How on earth the Schleck sisters are going to get a Pro-team interested in then, when the elder is coming back from a doping suspension while the younger has literally done nothing in a year- both with not enough points & results to "justify" the investment ????

This is when reality hits really hard for them- cuz the party is over and the might be singing this next year all along ...:D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRYokc3VBC4

did he win anything? the bros isn't really known of trying hard on the race that's not LBL or TDF. So what that point mean anyway. Besides the team that needs the point will be euskatel or some other class 2 team that aims for WT team.

What team will be a good fit for them? Vacansoile most likely will be folded. Argos shimanos? naaa, schlecks are too primadona for them. QuickStep, duh.. to many diva + schlecks, will be all hell break loose. Maybe BMC?? naaaa.. Ah, how about orica??

You could have checked it by yourself, but I guess it's easier to be scornful.
His top tens are: second overall in Tour de Suisse, third in Tour de Luxembourg and seventh in Ruta del Sol. That means 89 points in total.
