Trek knows how to deal with knees just ask horner !

Horner is a warrior. A guy that loves riding and competing. Someone that can take the ups and downs in a tough sport. Andy has never convinced me he is similar. Why is that whenever Andy says his form is good it never translates into results ? Not in the past three years anyway.

The problem with Andy is that he has always had it to easy. He got great results immidiately after turning pro and according to his DSs never had to work as hard as other riders for his results. Then the **** hits the fan and that hits him much harder since he isnt used to having to work hard to get back.

Exactly.
Andy had never experienced adversity in his career path until he got injured.
So his problems are between his ears.

But he seems to be frustrated and angry now.
Maybe that will help him to get back to his former level.

IIRC he won't race in California due to his knee. I think Suisse or Luxembourg maybe? is his next race.

California was not on his schedule to begin with. If he continues as planned, he will do Luxembourg, then Suisse.

This is only part of the problem IMO. If you look at the cobble stage in the Tour 2010 Andy was super-fluid, very efficient on the bike, never in the wind behind Cancellara and fearless against other bigger riders. He also used to be a good descender.
After 2011 and his crash in 2012 he's scared, his positioning in the peloton is hazardous, takes a lot of wind near the back of the bunch and so wastes a lot of energy.
From a physical point of view his position on the bike has changed since his 2012 crash and he looked thiner before 2011.

Per his recent tweet, he's been training in Mallorca. Next race should be Luxembourg then Suisse. We'll get to see where he's at heading into the Tour in those races.

His problem in Ardennes was mostly the crash and subsequent knee injury. And probably also the usual stuff.

For weeks after I got back to riding I didn't contest sprints on group rides. And even far after the crash a lot of the sprints I did in races and rides was from a seated position. Tough thing to do, getting the confidence you used to have back and learning not to ride worried that you may crash again.

Isn't this the main reason Oscar Pereiro quit cycling as well? It can just be really difficult to mentally recover from a hard crash. I somehow still wonder if Andy will find a decent psychologist and be able to figure it out. For now, I don't think that will happen.

Í guess its true. I can't remember Andy winning anything overall then the tdf 2010. Although maybe the World Ports Classic is a bit smaller price then the tour. Just a little.

It its only stage races,then no.He actually won(didnt win) stage race in books.
If its overall,then yes,cuz he won LBL,which is still very impressive

As I GC contender, I would take Theo Bos.
Uphill, they are about even, they crash about even but Bos got a faster sprint.

I can´t really figure out if all his problems is in the head or its physically.

Anyway, I just hope he can find his old self and start racing, he´s needed badly in the tour, at his old level that is.
