Yes, but Salamanca is in the middle of a 3 weeks race and the worlds is a one day race. If recovery doesn't count Purito will be a safe Tour contender

With this post you acknowledge that with Contador at the Tour Andy's consecutive string of Tour wins will be but a dream. Some type of Freudian slip or just you're finally accepting the truth?:D

In the 1 gt they faced eachother in, Alberto beat him in both tts.

And since a lot of Wiggins fans believe that ttt time is entirely down to ones individual time trialing ability, we might even say all 3 tts.

Not that Contador can neccesarily repeat that performance but i can see him limiting his losses well and especially in the last tt of a gt after the mountain stages, unleashing the pain.

Andy should just follow his training program from 09-10. His climbing was great back then, and his TT in the tdf 10 was not that bad either.. His cadence was much better back then compared to how he rides now too..

He really shouldn't´t sacrifice his climbing to only improve his TT be a few %..

His cadence changed in the 2010 Tour yet compared to 2007-09. He started breaking gears instead of softpedaling. It was already traced exactly in 2010. I don't think it is totally connected with work on TT. Possibly, that style doesn't suit to him more. He really got more massive. Thats not excess weight certainly, just something coming with age.

Yea you´re right. Just watched some 2010 footage and he indeed started pedaling with a heavier gear. But especially in 2011 it just did not look efficient at all.. I kinda hope that Bruyneel convinces Andy to use a higher cadence :cool:
