well, not really, I understand in outline what you always talk about. I just don't get why the attitude that gives the result for 4 years should be changed.

He has changed this attitude though. Instead of two moments in a year when he lives up to his potential, it seems he's now content with only one: the Tour. There's simply no rider with such potential who does that anymore. Except Andy Schleck.

Probably, if such a change in the attitude didn't happen before, and all the more so it won't be in the the future. He just will crush the opposition in the Tour until his tremendous talent lets do that. It's his cycling world outlook - the Tour, a little bit of Ardennes, sometimes vacation in the Vuelta.

Maybe, next year we'll remember with nostalgy that in former times he rode Ardennes for the result. )

It has its advantages. If Andy had raced good everywhere, say, on Pays Vasco, Tirreno, etc, the others (Purito, Nibali,...) wouldn't have been unable to show themselves.

He doesn't race enough one day races. We know he can win stage races, he's been doing that for ages. I'd like to see him branch out a bit as a cyclist. He should be racing for the win in the Ardennes, the Worlds, Lombardia and the Olympics.

Obviously he has an excuse to miss a few of those this year.

Didn't he do just that in 2010 for Astana in Fleche Wallone and then in LBL successfully working for Vino? That in addition to the week long stage races he competed in.

I think it is wise by Contador to be in 80-85% shape all year and peak only in tour/Giro or this year Vuelta, instead of gambling on a peak also in april

and the acceleration in shorter climbs, witch is actually exactly what Vasco, Tirreno and so on is all about
