The fact is Contador will be found guilty of doping and given a 2 year ban. His lawyers have ZERO proof and ZERO evidence the clenbuterol was due to contaminated meat and they didn't even get a sample of the meat!

In all doping cases of contamintated supplements where the athlete received a lighter sentence (i.e. 1 year ban instead of two), they were able to show the supplement they ingested contained the banned substance.

In Contador's case, they have NO proof whatsoever of any contamination. This is nothing but a corrupt decision by the Spanish federation. It's the same level of investigation that Steve Johnson and USA Cycling conducted into Lance Armstrong's positive EPO tests from the '99 Tour de France.

Ooh, I would like to see you and Publicus (being lawyer if my memory serves me correct) have a debate on that as he seems adamant that Alberto will be cleared (though he also is a Alberto fanboy).

Him vs fresh, on-form Cadel Evans (for example) would be an interesting and probably close fight over the course of a three week race. Contador will crush those two in to the ground without ever breaking a sweat.

3 second placings in 4 GTs doesn't scream "inconsistent" to me. Sure, he's not quite as consistent as Contador, but more consistent than Evans in recent years. (Strictly talking GTs, of course)

Whatever. The point isn't how good AS or Cuddles are. The point is that if Contador rides the Tour, Contador will win the Tour. You can't say that about any other rider in the peloton. He has won the last six grand tours he has entered and he doesn't look like slowing down. The Giro might have fatigued him a little, but he never looked like he was on the limit there so I'm sure he has plenty left in the tank.
