Just give him the prize money now and let the rest race. I had been looking forward to some actual competition in the mountains.

The whole thing is one big joke. For Contador there seem to be different standards then for anyone else. There aklready have been different standards for him in the Fuentes case.

You can't be serious. Without Contador, Andy Schleck would have been the best climber in the Tour by far.

Maybe the fans should take the matter into their own hands.

Whilst boycotting stages etc wouldnt make a blind bit of difference perhaps picking a stage to protest at the start and finish + en route would.

The picture of AC with an anti doping placard wealding protester at the Giro is a strong image.

Imagine all the tifosi on a particular day with the riders and race amongst a sea of those kind of placards!

people will always love the big champions.they followed cycling after festina,we will always love a good show put in scene by these incredible athletes.
that guy with the placard was just seeking attention, but you always can find a psycho in 100,000 tifosi cheering for the big champion, alberto.again,he wasn't booed for being involved in a doping scandal,he was booed because "they took our show!!!!!".that's all we want.

that day to luz ardiden will be insane.will contador attack first?or andy?don't know but it will be awesome.

The fact is Contador will be found guilty of doping and given a 2 year ban. His lawyers have ZERO proof and ZERO evidence the clenbuterol was due to contaminated meat and they didn't even get a sample of the meat!
.

Come on bro´ think...!

How the **** should he have taken a sample of the meat. ?

haven't you heard? terminator actually works for CAS and will be the one making the decision. thats why he is so sure.
also hilarious how that guy(like many others) only posts in the clinic and the only time he comes to the road section is when the road section has a thread that has some very light discussion on doping.

great cycling fans this guys are for sure

So then explain how Alberto and Levi and the entire Astana team were banned by the ASO from the Tour in 2009? There was nobody on the team that was to compete who tested positive.

The fact is Contador will be found guilty of doping and given a 2 year ban. His lawyers have ZERO proof and ZERO evidence the clenbuterol was due to contaminated meat and they didn't even get a sample of the meat!

In all doping cases of contamintated supplements where the athlete received a lighter sentence (i.e. 1 year ban instead of two), they were able to show the supplement they ingested contained the banned substance.

In Contador's case, they have NO proof whatsoever of any contamination. This is nothing but a corrupt decision by the Spanish federation. It's the same level of investigation that Steve Johnson and USA Cycling conducted into Lance Armstrong's positive EPO tests from the '99 Tour de France.

Ooh, I would like to see you and Publicus (being lawyer if my memory serves me correct) have a debate on that as he seems adamant that Alberto will be cleared (though he also is a Alberto fanboy).

i stand for AC to be banned for 1 year this August, so that he wont serve any suspension. considering the prize for winning Giro (some 1mln Euro?) and the Tour money (another 1mln Euro) he will hire the best attorneys and pay all his bills with advance payment )

Andy Schleck is inconsistent. He crashes, he drops his chain. Sometimes he rides really, really bad ITTs. He is beatable. Him vs fresh, on-form Cadel Evans (for example) would be an interesting and probably close fight over the course of a three week race. Contador will crush those two in to the ground without ever breaking a sweat.

Yes, taking 'it' to the max does that sort of thing.

I don't see how it is fair that if AC gets a 1 year ban that he won't have faced any suspension?

I´m predicting a Contador BONK 1 day during the tour - which will be put down to tired from the Giro

im very certain contador will be too tired to win the tour. He might be a better climber than schleck overall. But I dont think he can beat a very fresh schleck.

I personally would not wish a crash on anyone, Road and Lycra at 45 km hurts bad.

So have I and have had head injuries from it but am just putting it out there that riders have done it. I would never wish it to anyone even if they are a cheat.

Wauue, yeah man, I see your point, and your right on the money..!

One mio. from the giro and now perhaps like 1 mio. more from the Tour in prize money..
Then he is truely a rich sob and CAS dosnt have a chance..

Anyway mate, you sound like a guy there have a good knowledge about how things work, so I understand why you feel you have the leverage to judge him one year doiping sentence..

I can just imagine Contador at home swimming around
in the 1 mio. prize-money from the Giro.

joakimvonand2.jpg

And all the Saxo bank & Sungard Team-mates are just standing at the giro final stage and wondering where the god damn
are the prize-money and the prinzip that we supply them by the team-mates.??

3 second placings in 4 GTs doesn't scream "inconsistent" to me. Sure, he's not quite as consistent as Contador, but more consistent than Evans in recent years. (Strictly talking GTs, of course)

He doesn't crash a whole lot, either.

Would you like to explain to me why AC has not supplied a hair test in order to determined if he has used Clenbuterol long term?

Btw, if there was no chance of he getting a sample of meat, why was he going on and on and on and on about the damn recipe? Was that just more bull**** coming out of his mouth (with that cute baby-voice of his)?

Some fans actually want to see a cleaner sport even if idiots, such as yourself, doesn't care about that.

Surely Cuddles is consistent.

In being inconsistent.

Yeah, AS is one of the more consistent guys in the peloton during July(no sarcasm).

Whatever. The point isn't how good AS or Cuddles are. The point is that if Contador rides the Tour, Contador will win the Tour. You can't say that about any other rider in the peloton. He has won the last six grand tours he has entered and he doesn't look like slowing down. The Giro might have fatigued him a little, but he never looked like he was on the limit there so I'm sure he has plenty left in the tank.

can someone provide an example, when aso tried and succeeded banning an individual rider (dont confuse it with banning his team) ?

just one example please.

Zomegnan stopped Ricco and Sella riding their first Giro after their return from suspension.
