I rather liked the thread. To be fair though, it was going from 'talented babe on a bike' to more of a 'half naked woman with big breasts with a bike in the background' sorta thread. I for one would rather see more of the former then the later.

And besides, Boris Johnson was pictured in that thread far too often.

But wasn't Kelly Brook in all of the pics with Boris to more than make up for his appearance.

It's a wee bit dodgy to shut down a thread based on a personal view and the reasons you state. Moderate by all means but the thread did no actual harm other than offend the PC brigade whose sole aim seems to be stopping people enjoy themselves!!

Quite honestly, I don't think many of the ladies featured in those threads would particularly object to the pictures. You have forums which are specific to the discussion of cycling if that's all readers want to read them. I'll respect your decision when you shut everything not related to cycling otherwise this is a mistake!

Hey, it isn't just the PC crowd on that one. Christine doesn't want you "enjoying" yourself either. Then you have idiotic right winged douchebags like Rick Santorum who want to get into your bedroom and tell you what you can and cannot do there. Republicans are no friendlier to "enjoyment" of oneself than anyone else.

That's not their sole aim. What people like this want is to control any environment they inhabit, based solely on their views of right and wrong, necessary or unnecessary, lewd or not lewd, moral or immoral. They will not concede that in a free society we have choices. No, they want to make it "illegal" to do things they disagree with(or they say others disagree with). Interestingly enough, many of these same people who put these rules/laws in place are guilty of breaking those very same rules/laws themselves. Which begs the question: Why did these boundaries ever need to be put in place, to begin with?
Was the thread hurting anybody? I'll help you here: NO But the moderators unfortunately get a little carried away with themselves every now and then and take themselves way too seriously sometimes, and so this is the result: Censorship. There was absolutely no need to cut that thread off, But I'm not surprised.
BTW there was momentarily a "men's" thread up, but it died a quick quiet death of it's own. A thread that attracts almost 1 million views should just be left alone, and the moderators should have the guts to inform the complainers of their options, and offer that they lighten up, get over themselves, and move on to more thought provoking threads like, W riding a 29er, or the best movie of All time thread.

No, unfortunately here in the States, we get leftist PC bull**** AND right winged bull****. The right wing here keeps power by making sure they hate gay people enough to get the Christian vote.

I think it's truly hilarious that ScottSoCal, and krebs303 who were thread long drivers of the BoB thread have not commented at all. Krebs303 even went onto You Tube, if I'm not mistaken, and posted several compilation videos of the BoB thread. krebs 303's avatar now is a real hoot.:D The BoB thread produced some very raw and ridiculous exchanges and experiences. It's a true shame that so many people (forum members AND moderators alike) are so uptight, and feel so self righteous about it too. And, that in the end, they affect so many others too. Even about things that should otherwise be regarded as harmless.

It is Sunday Morning on the West coast, Scott just got in from the bar. Give him a few hours.

Right as usual, RR. The bar tab at the Back Abbey was significant.

I've know for some time the mods were uneasy regarding the Babes thread. I thought we had an understanding with a zero tolerance for nudity..., I guess not.

This forum belongs to someone other than me, so it really does not matter what I think about their decision. The only thing that bugs me is an air of hypocrisy. There are many threads on this forum having exactly nothing to do with cycling.

It does kind of summarize my feelings of over-regulation.:D

I just think if the thread was to be closed it should have been closed a long time ago, closed when it started, or closed when hundreds of images got deleted for going to far, not closed after a year. Serious case of shutting doors long after the horses have all left, had children of their own and been turned into burgers.

And that decision should have been made after discussion between all moderators, not one.

God, you are all pathetic, working yourselves up as if soft porn with bikes was a human right. If your girlfriends are away, why don't you just go to redtube.com and do a search on "bike". And get it over with.

Whats redtube?

To be honest, it was never really about the babes, or the bikes come to that, it was more about the competative sport of photo finding. You could start a thread on gnome photos here and there would be people around here scouring the net to find the best possible pictures due to their naturally competative nature.

shall i start

Redtube is a free hardcore porno site. Don't ask how I know this:eek:

And your right Dim it there was a little competitive spirit. Is still have about 100 pics I never posted but I like to spread them out. I always tried to post a wide variety of "Babes" to appeal to the diverse forum members. I don't feel the pics iI posted were any more than a little saucy.
I have agreed with every thing you have posted on this thread.
Now when are you going to start that gnome thread. I have 16 pics ready to go

I like how those who don't like it are here posting, I guess they saw the thread :D, I wonder how many times they viewed it, not to mention checked back to see if it was still there.

Dear Admin,

I would like to complain about the new advert for "breast enhancement surgery" appearing on your website. Not only does this have nothing to do with cycling, but I find the photograph contained within the advert of a young lady wearing nothing but a bra extremely offensive. I believe you should remove the said advert from your website immediately.

Yours disgustedly,

Roland.

Sorry to inform you but, That didn't happen. Dozens of pages of pictures were withdrawn by the contributors, of their own accord, not through good judgement by overseeing moderators. There might have been a few that were deleted for crossing the line, but even after ridiculous skirmishing with a belligerent moderator many pictures that were in poor taste remained on the thread. Then after a pause to mourn the loses, things started picking up again, albeit with many(many) repeat pictures. And the previous purge was to become known as "the time not to be spoken of":p!
Now the whole thing has been "over-regulated" or, to describe it more appropriately - CENSORED. Oh well! It was fun for a while, but then the grown ups got (overzealously, hypocritically, rightfully, take your pick) involved!;) So, as they might say in the Tour de France:
C'est la Vie!!!
