The important part:

The email, from Lord Coe to Mr Beloff, is dated August 2014 and reads: "I have in the last couple of days received copied documentation of serious allegations being made by and on behalf of the Russian female athlete Shobukhova from David Bedford.

"I have spoken to David today on the phone and he advises me that he has shared this information with you. Should I forward this documentation to you?

"The purpose of this note is of course to advise you that I have now been made aware of the allegations...but would be grateful for your advice."

Ha Ha - Posters wonder why I am concerned about Beloff being a CAS Arbitrator - On the IAAF Ethics Commission and seems to have sat on the information - Too many conflicts of interest in the top end of sport.
Have to agree with you here.

You're referring to me, and I'm pretty sure the discussion was not about whether Beloff specifically should be a CAS arbitrator, it was about whether CAS should source their arbitrators from experts in the field.

So Lord Coe literally has been caught lying to parliament ?

Well that's going to get interesting.
(its one thing to do it, plenty of folks do, but its another thing entirely to be caught doing so)

Collins just on BBC5 live.
Not pleased with Coe.
An inch away from calling him a liar.
That said, the interviewer had a point, why let Coe appear in front of the committee again?

Anyway, as Tucker said, Collins et al. are showing an appetite to get to the bottom of things which is reassuring.

quite...

to paraphrase Coe

"I know I was aware of the allegations...It's just I was sure you only asked if I was aware of them"

"I have a global sport to run, across 214 countries.....they have a report to write"

Is this a case of the best form of defence is attack? That's how I see it. Also, though Coe has agreed to return to face the Committee, it still hasn't been arranged as far as I know and I take the above sentence as being his excuse for this...i.e. I am too busy doing other stuff.

No worries, I clicked it and was confused, assumed you must have got the wrong one so had a quick look.

I don't know how anyone could listen to that man and believe a word he says.

Thanks. Yeah I had both open and didn't double check before posting. And yes I agree with your assessment that he can't be believed.

Wrong link, it's this one:

I heard it on the radio this morning. His word choice is very exact.

"I have furnished that committee with every piece of information that they have ASKED of me"

He is such smarmy git.
Yep good assessment. But lets face it athletics isn't going to get anyone who will actually do anything to stop the sham that is the sport now. too much money involved and too many people to pay off to get into power. Its just one big circus now where it pays to be at the top
