It's beginning to do my head in. It really is. So much aggressiveness, constant knowingly and 'lol', 'facepalm' and other ridiculous expressions.

Quite a shame.

What about your signature? Doesn't that imply a "facepalm"? Maybe not, I am not aware of your history with dlwssonic, maybe it is just a joke on your part or maybe dlwssonic meant it as a joke in the first place. (Serious question, no bashing/baiting intended)

Maybe it's something I've noticed as a result of posting less, but where has all the proper cycling discussion gone? What happened to the analytical and non-partisan debates? It seems that objectivity is an undesired trait, and that yelling and screaming for your "side" is the way to go. At its best the forum is far superior in the depth of cycling analysis to anything the media can provide, but at its worst it is no better than reading press releases from teams.

Wait a minute, this is a general cycling forum and you want non-partisan debates? I think you're new to this whole fan/sports thing.

Maybe you should join a site about one specific team or rider, your comment would fit much better there.

I really don't think it does. dlwssonic did some serious jinxing and the result after the race was quite funny in that matter. I thought it deserved a place on the trophy shelf. If dlwssonic finds it offensive I'll remove it right away. Tbf, I don't think he cares a bit.

In hindsight it's pretty funny. Kudos to dlwssonic if he doesn't care, we all probably have made predictions that later proved ridiculous!

But as I stated on the first page in this thread I'm no angel myself. I've caught myself being dragged down to a pathetic level of discussion because I couldn't ignore the ignorance that this forum sometimes tends to show. I really think the forum has changed quite a bit since I started following it. I guess I just have to be better to ignore certain posts/posters.

But there are still plenty of quality posts mind you.

So a community based on one cycling participant should be less partisan than one which covers all? I should expect superior cycling commentary from the Phillipe Gilbert Official Fan Community than here?

Arnout is 100% right. It seems as though the Schleck app/dep threads have sort of taken the shape of a warground for all the Conti/Schleck banter.

I hope it stays that way.
